heck yeah, your senior year is finally here!

i want to give you the one-of-a-kind, once in a lifetime senior portrait experience you deserve! i pride myself in helping make this process easy and fun all while customizing it to your personality and style. you only do senior portraits once and i would love to be the best part of your senior year (ok, other than the whole graduating thing).

1a full blown photoshoot by an art director (hint that’s me!)

my photoshoots are the real deal. hair and makeup is included with my professional stylist, i will help you choose what to wear so you look amazing and you have location options including my studio. most of my sessions last 2 to 3 hours because i want you to relax, be yourself and have fun being a model for the day. oh and i worked in advertising as an art director before becoming a photographer full time. so i approach each photo shoot as if i were photographing you for a beautiful magazine running an article about you!

you can expect lots of variety who wants senior portraits that all look just slightly different? nobody, that’s who! with plenty of shoot time and wardrobe changes you can expect quite a bit of variety in your images. different posing, lighting, clothing, etc. i make sure to get those happy closeups that grandma will love, to more “artsy” fun stuff and everything in between.

your session will be unique to you i believe your unique personality should shine in your portraits. so i can get to know you, i include a pre-session consult by phone or video chat and a full questionnaire. my session vibe isn’t the same for everyone because everyone’s not the same. but be warned, i am chatty and loud, that is consistent. :)

YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. I HAVE ANSWERS.

q. i’ve never modeled before, is that ok?

a. i photograph real people and try to make you comfortable enough to relax and enjoy. certainly zero modeling experience is required for senior portraits.

q. i’m not super stylish, how do i know what to wear? a. my welcome guide is packed full with style info and tips. we’ll talk about clothing choices during your pre-session consult and some girls find texting me pictures or doing a video chat is also helpful.

q. i’m nervous to have my hair and makeup done. anything i should know?

a. if you’ve never had your hair & makeup done before, you may be a little nervous. my stylists are professionals, and awesome people, who are there to give you a look you are happy and comfortable with. in fact, my seniors often use their stylist again for prom! although hair & makeup is included, it isn’t mandatory. if you prefer to just have your makeup done or do it yourself, let me know!

q. i don’t know how to decide on a location. help! a. you will receive my extensive location list and we will also talk about location options during your pre-session consult so i can help you pick what fits you and your personality. if you go with ‘the select session’ you have the option of doing my studio for one of your two locations.

q. i’m interested in a travel session, how does that work?

a. travel sessions are so much fun, let’s talk because each one is unique! although it’s possible we could go anywhere, travel to the traverse city/charlevoix and san diego areas are locations i travel to more often and may not even have a travel fee! (california in the winter, count me in!)

q. can i get pictures with my dog?

a. yes please! i love me some dogs, horses, hedgehogs...all the animals! there are some details and tips i will share with you to help it all go smoothly.

q. what if i don’t know what product(s) i want to order when i book my session?

a. no worries! you do not choose any products and no additional payment is due until after you have viewed your images at your viewing and ordering appointment following your session.

q. my mom wants to know if we can do a picture with my siblings/family?

a. yes, we’ll talk about how that works best when we do your pre-session consult.

WHICH TYPE OF SESSION IS RIGHT FOR ME?

the classic session

the classic session works perfectly for most senior portrait sessions. if you’re worried about location variety, i’m happy to share the best locations for that!

the select session

the select session is for you if you’d like studio portraits in addition to your outdoor location or if you need a second specific location ie: football field, tennis court, school theatre, etc.

the travel session

the travel session is for those who have a special location to them, a cabin or town up north, or would like something totally different like a beach in san diego!
