Finish That Book: Creative Ways to Write Your Book in 90 Days or Less If you’ve been writing for any length of time, you know about the problem that plagues just about everyone in the industry; having a bunch of unfinished projects. Maybe you get new ideas mid-project, or maybe you lose confidence because of your pace? First, stop worrying about that. With a little discipline and the following creative tips, you can get your book written to completion in 90 days or less. Check it out. 

1000 Words a Day

One of the most common practices for quickly getting the first draft out is to simply commit to writing 1000 words per day. Within 90 days, you'll have a 90,000-word manuscript to start the editing phase with, and all you'll have to do is a bit of polishing.

The 1000 words don’t even have to be high-quality writing. The point is to get the book on paper before you put it off for so long you abandon it entirely. The key with this one is to truly commit to writing 1000 words. Some days, it might feel impossible to get 50 words onto the page. Push through it. There’s time for editing later on. 

Get a Writing Buddy and Set a Goal

Writing is a solo endeavor for most people. You probably want to sit down and write whatever comes to mind without anyone else’s input or criticism. However, a teammate can help you in more ways than just providing feedback. 

Find a trusted writing acquaintance who is also starting a project.

Set the goal to complete your manuscripts within 90 days,

and then log your progress each day. Check-in with each other once a week. This slight sense of competition, and the innate desire to not let your buddy down, might just be the push you need to stick with it. 

The Rough Draft Sprint

You’re a writer. You have a dream. That dream means the world to you, and you aim to see it come to fruition. That’s what the rough draft sprint is all about: Putting your dream first.

Don’t worry about setting goals or getting accountability partners. Just make your dream of finishing a book your priority. Use every opportunity you have, when you can’t write, to plan out what happens next in your book. When you get the chance to write, sit down and do it instead of watching TV, gaming, or doing other time wasters. You might feel like you’re sacrificing a lot, but your book will be finished well before the 90-day mark if you put in this level of commitment. 

Do What’s Best for You

Finishing a book often feels impossible. Take it from us. We've had dozens of projects sit on the shelf for years until we finally figured it out. You can do the same. Try these tips, and if you need to make some adjustments, go ahead and use your best judgment. Good luck, wordsmiths.

the cover Prophetess Shanta Moore, Author of Destiny: It’s in the Grain

I am Shanta Moore, the wife to a loving and compassionate husband, Marvin L. Moore, Jr. Marvin and I are the parents to Tylir and Naya' our adult children. We currently reside in Macon, Georgia, where we serve in our community as a modern-day Aquilla and Pricilla. I received my undergraduate degree in Human Services from Mercer University with a concentration in Social Science. I chose this field because, from a child, I have always been extremely interested in the way humans behaved and why. Little did I know that everything I encountered in my life prepared me to research the why behind my behavior. As a result of this lifelong work, God gave me these words to pen, not just for you but also for me. This work is very near to my heart. It has taken me many decades to get to the place of genuinely releasing the grain out of my heart into the fertile soil of God's hand so that it could die and my purpose called Destiny could live. I am grateful for my journey because look at all of you amazing readers who have come to my bountiful field to partake in my harvest. Life is set up in such a unique way.

I started writing not to write a book, but for the need to become a book men could read.

The very thing that has troubled us the most in our lives is the same thing that shall be used to bring about a great awakening to who we are, what we are on this earth to do, how that shall be carried out, and where it will take us.

Tell us about your new book, “Destiny: It’s in the Grain.” My book is a collection of revelational truths to assist every person who has ever been hurt in discovering true wholeness. Destiny, it’s in the Grain reveals how you can be healed and made whole, all while not pointing fingers, placing blame, or rehashing all the afflictions. In my book, I share the God guide to releasing the grains of pain into the hands of the Father. As each person reads my book, they will discover that releasing grains of pain reveals the hidden destiny. What was the journey of writing Destiny: It’s In the Grain like for you? Revolutionary As I wrote Destiny, It’s in the Grain, my entire life changed. My writing started from one question I asked God, why so much pain? He responded because destiny is in those grains of pain. You have them planted in the wrong soil. As I wrote, the grains began to fall in the hands of God. I simply wrote out my conversations with God. I started writing not to write a book, but for the need to become a book men could read. I was tired of all these versions of myself I created because of pain. I desired to put it all on paper to look in the mirror and see the truth about myself. I did not concern myself with grammar or chapters, just the fact that was setting me free. After I completed my manuscript, I was free from all the pain that once crippled me. Your book is based on John 12:24, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, Except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” How has this scripture changed your life, and why did you feel it was necessary to share this message with others? Yes, it has in the most profound way. I now truly know that holding on to hurt only hinders it does not heal the damage or reveal destiny. In your book, you share an intimate moment with God where he revealed that although you loved him with all your heart, you were damaged. What has the process of becoming whole been like for you, and what advice would you extend to those desiring to begin their healing

process but not sure how to do it? It has been in those moments of truth that God has set me free. God was not concerned with my feelings! He was ultimately concerned about my fate. He knew that I would not come into destiny if I did not confront the damage caused by the pain. The first thing is this, healing is the process of wholeness. I had to learn how to give myself grace in the healing process. There were days when my mind was clear, and I could see the end of the pain. Then there were days when I would wake up and say, what healing? Because I was not having a great day. In those times I would pick up my manuscript and read what God told me and encourage myself. I could not judge my healing based on the day I was having. I had to declare my healing despite the feeling of the day by remembering the truth of my destiny. I did this by proclaiming God’s word over myself because it is the roadmap for fulfilled destiny, not my feelings. It was a 3-year journey to wholeness for me. I must do the daily maintenance work to remain free from being in bondage to pain. If I could offer any wisdom to those desiring to be healed and made whole, it would give yourself the grace to heal. We must understand that each of our processes will be different because our pain is all different. As we learn to trust God with our pain, then we gain the healing we long for. The first step to healing is admitting that we have been hurt. What would you like readers to take away from your book? I want each reader to take their lives back after reading my book. I want them to realize that yes, hurt came to them from the hands of others, but their healing is now in their own hands. I also pray that each reader sees that the pain served a purpose, and that purpose was to reveal destiny. You and your husband, Prophet Marvin Moore, have been in ministry for several years. What would you say is the number one thing that holds believers back from receiving the depth of healing God desires for them to receive? Yes, we have both been disciples of The Lord Jesus

PURCHASE

Christ for a very long time. We both accepted the call of God into ministry many years ago. We were commissioned as Prophets at our wedding. As we have walked with the Lord and graced to help others in their walk, we have learned that fear and shame are true culprits to healing. Fear of what others will think, knowing the deep pain one is in, and the shame attached to the trauma that has trapped them. Why do you think it is important to be healed of the pain in our lives? How does holding on to pain impact our destiny? Healing from pain is essential because each life is meaningful. God released each of us on the earth with a specific assignment, and truthfully speaking, only that person can fulfill that assignment. If we never get healed, then what we are destined to do will not be revealed, and we go through life unfulfilled. Tell us about your program, Destiny Discourse. Who is this program for?

Destiny’s Discourse is for those ready to learn how to decode the pain and discover destiny. In this program, participants will learn that what has caused them the greatest pains in their lives is their grains of destiny. I will teach principles on learning how to overcome trauma triggers. Trauma triggers are what keep people as victims. Once the cycle is broken, then there is a breakout of victory. Each participant will also learn how to live among those who have not healed and maintain their healing. One of the greatest threats to a changed life is living among those who have not changed. In Destiny’s Discourse, participants will learn tools to dismantle trauma triggers. This workshop will focus on overcoming the hindrances of destiny.

Have you ever wanted to share all of the gruesome details of every painful situation you have experienced without inflicting pain on who hurt you? That's exactly what the Father taught author Shanta Moore to do as He impressed upon her the words you will read in Destiny, It's in the Grain. Come along with author Shanta Moore on a discovery of destiny as God reveals how you can be healed and made whole, all while not pointing fingers, placing blame, or rehashing your afflictions. Shanta guides you through how to release the grains of hurt, disappointment, grief, and bitterness into the hands of the Father so that you can be healed and set free. Sharing an account of everything she has experienced in her 42 years of life, Shanta teaches how deliverance is within the life of the Grain, not the agony of the pain. The Destiny Dots found at the end of each chapter invites readers to do the personal work required to experience a Heavenly release. This book will teach you how to decode the pain that has had you stagnant by propelling you to live a destiny fulfilled life!

Now is the time to apologize to yourself for allowing people to hold you hostage in their hostile environments. Now that you see it all served a purpose, let's serve defeat and despair an eviction notice. The Grain of pain has been pushed out, and your destiny has pressed you into greater. No, you can not change what happened to you! But you can change how you respond to it. -Shanta Moore

I’m Just Simply Saying: Marriage Takes Work dannyandrhodawhitfield.com

You can still be an overcomer of those things that come up against you and your spouse if you continue to love hard and work on your marriage. -Rhoda Whitfield

Rhoda Whitfield is a resident

of Tallahassee, Fla., where she attended the public school system in Leon County. After graduating from James S. Rickards High School, she matriculated at Florida A&M University. She has been an educator of children for over 20 years. She is a member of Tabernacle MB Church, where she worked with the couple's ministry. She has been married to her loving husband and college sweetheart Rev. Danny Whitfield for 41 years. They work together in counseling married couples as well as couples aspiring to be married. They published A Well-Rounded Love Affair, "More Than Between the Sheets". . They presently have a weekly "Marriage Takes Work" radio segment on Halleluiah 95.3FM station, which can be viewed live on Facebook. They also work together to conduct marital mini-workshop and seminars. She believes in maintaining a successful marriage. You have to nurture your marriage daily. She also wrote a blog for an online magazine, Purpose Driven Woman, entitled "Just Simply Saying." After retirement, she looked forward to writing another book about marriage. However, with the passing of her son, God chose to birth a children's book entitled "Where Did You Go?" It was her granddaughter's confused and puzzled looks that prompted her to develop a memory book of her son. Through her observation of her granddaughter, she saw this was not just a problem for her but all children that have experienced the loss of a parent or caregiver. It was then that God inspired her with a new passion for writing a self-help book for children who have experienced the loss of a parent. A supplemental guide was added to accompany the book. It serves as a way for children to journal their feelings when they can't seem to verbalize them. The book and supplemental guide can also assist those children who have experienced separation, not only

through death but also through a divorce, parent incarceration, or military deployment. During the pandemic 2019-2020, God birthed "I'm Just Simply Saying.”: Marriage Takes Work. In I'm Just Simply Saying, author and marriage coach Rhoda Whitfield helps you tackle the ups, downs, bumps and bruises of marriage. She discusses that even though some days may be burdensome, giving up is not a reason. Instead, this guide emphasizes the importance of including God in the marriage as you work to blend personalities and differences as you move toward becoming one; God promotes that unity, harmony, and oneness. The principles explained in the book demonstrate that if you work together, learn how to communicate effectively, and practice forgiveness, you'll work on your marriage, your marriage will work, and you will see the beauty of it all. Why did you decide to write your book? I have a great passion for marriage and wish to see every couple's relationship be successful. I believe that this book can serve as a tool to help couples know that marriage takes work. It speaks candidly that each party will need to be patient, communicate, be forgiving, put the time in to really work their marriage, and allow God to play an active role in their relationship.

There were many sections of this book that I had thoughts about how I would do things. Subsequently, these are sections that I don't remember writing. Nevertheless, this book showed me how the Holy Spirit can overtake you and use you as a vessel to bring forth God's message. What do you enjoy most about being a writer? Being able to express myself transparently to others. For example, sharing how we overcame obstacles in our 41 years of marriage. What advice would you give to new and aspiring writers looking to publish their book? My advice would be to have a passion for what they are writing about and be transparent in their writing. Not raw, but transparent.

Strictly For Kicks and Giggles: The Hilarious Life of an Author

Writers Block Strikes Again By: Ed Panek

The joys of writing a new piece are all in front of you. Total jubilation and happy dancing were in your dreams as you lay in bed thinking of ways to approach your latest creation. We have all had the anticipation that this new project will be our masterpiece, our claim to fame, the absolute best and funniest piece we have ever written, or the ultimate novel that will instantly hit the NY Times Best Selling list. A blank screen in front of you, you're ready to start writing, and then…………………….. It remains blank. You start to think over and over about how to get started and what to write about and all you can see in your head is the wicked witch of the west screaking at you, saying "No more writing for you my laddie!!!!" Yes, it has hit you again, the infamous writer's block. Staring at the blank screen, nothing is coming to mind about how to get started writing.

Oh no, what do we do now? You start to pull on your hair until you pull out a big blotch of it by the roots. Ouch! OK, no more physical pain as now it hurts to think again. You stare once again at the blank screen and year for the good old days of using a typewriter (aging ourselves here). At least when you had no ideas, you would start and stop and pull out the paper. Going through page after page of ideas that did not just pan out. But here's an idea, let's wad up all those unused pages and play bad idea basketball with the garbage can in the corner of the room, so you do not drive yourself crazy. Now we just have computer screens, and we can not toss those anywhere as they are too expensive.

Coffee, yep that's the ticket. Let's drink a bunch of coffee and eat junk food because all that caffeine will get you

hopped up, and the ideas will start to flow again. Nope, not working either? Let's get the adrenalin going. That will get the old brain churning out some ideas that work. So, you start to do exercises in your writers' office. Jumping Jacks, pullups, pushups, squats, and oh now all that coffee and the squats catch up with you, so better go to the place one thinks best. Yes, hurry up as the coffee is kicking in. As we sit in that tiny little room, we contemplate life and that your article is due tomorrow or you do not get a paycheck. The ideas start to come into your head about what to do. You feel as if you can now accomplish anything avoiding the disaster that almost happened. Yes, the story is finally on the way, and then the damn witch comes back again. Where's Dorothy and Toto when you need them. Ah, let's write a fairy tale!!

5 Reasons a First-Time Author Should Hire a Publishing Team By: Mercy Benadette Writing, however much of a hobby or a passion it might be is a daunting task and even more so for a first-time author trying to make a name for themselves in the writing world. Unlike the creative writing process, publishing is a business that requires a lot of work and effort, and it can be very overwhelming. Are you a first-time author looking at having your article or book published? If yes, then PurposePals is your solution in publishing. Do not be among first-time authors who may opt for self-publishing; instead, find it fit to work with publishing teams like PurposePals. While there are many fascinating and inspiring success stories from selfpublishing, here are five reasons we feel a first-time author should hire PurposePals as your publishing team. Publishing teams are experts and provide a good partnership. Consequently, working with a publisher means working and partnering with a company that has experience working with authors. As a first-time author, you do not need your own bad experiences in the field to be your teacher. A publishing team can help you learn from other people's experiences and guide you not to go through the same. Additionally, partnerships with a publishing team or company can also help keep you on toes with your writing career. Publishing teams help in growing your audience. For first-time authors and even the best authors in the industry, expanding their audience is the ultimate goal. You, as an author, might have some strategies to help you gain a fan base; however, a publishing team can also incorporate marketing strategies to help increase the audience. Having years of experience makes the team knowledgeable on what the audience would want and can lead an author in the right direction that will lead to an expanded audience. Publishing teams can help a first-time author make it into the mainstream media. Even with the introduction of e-books and the tremendous growth of self-publishing, traditional media

is still a crucial part of selling books. Unfortunately for self-publishing authors, it is difficult for mainstream media to feature self-published books. Publishing teams like PurposePals can be instrumental in helping authors get a spot to feature their books in newspapers, talk shows, newsrooms, websites and get valuable publicity in building their writing career.

Publishing teams provide objective validation and emotional support. Starting as an author requires a lot of reassurance from time to time. Family and friends often encourage authors, but this is primarily a biased point of view, supporting the author. However, being chosen by a well-read publisher and having seen all kinds of writing from a million and one manuscripts that reach their desks means that they see value in your work and can find an audience. They also offer emotional support to authors. This can go a long way in boosting the confidence of an author. Publishing teams help to improve the writing and produce remarkable work. Publishers edit your manuscripts and offer constructive remarks. They can quickly pinpoint areas that need correction and more details. Publishers provide professional insight to first-time authors on the book's look and ensure that what reaches the readers is a masterpiece. Additionally, hiring a publishing team saves time and costs that an author would have otherwise incurred self-publishing. Publishing a book might be an uphill task for a first-time author; however, it is all manageable with the right publishing team like PurposePals.
