COLLAGE

PROJECT l

Semester 1 I Studio's Compilation The objective of this project is to study the culture, people and place of the site. Based on the visits that was take place at Kampung Muara Tuong, students were to explain their thought and feelings on the trip. The final product is a collage that expresses one's perspective or story of Muara Tuong through the use of basic shapes, colours and texture.

ESCAPE VESSEL

EXIT PORTAL

This task is to understand the meaning and relations between form and space. The sptatial relationship of spaces harmonized with forms create three moods. My vessel is based on movie JACK THE GIANT SLAYER with moods.HAPPY, COURAGE and FEAR. The concept is tectonic.

This task is to explore and type of spaces. The transition will be articulated by the spatial relations and introducing the volume in it. I choose the movie JACK THE GIANT SLAYER with the mood FELICITY. The concept for this project is the beanstalk.

PAINT YOUR WORLD This task is mainly about understanding the design elements by abstracting it into painting. The abstract painting is based on selected movie to analyse the emotions and physical characteristics of the scene. This painting is based on the movie MALEFICENT with the mood TENSE.

Semester 2 I Mohamad Faiz Bin Daud

ESCAPE VESSEL

EXIT PORTAL

This task is to understand and explore the meaning and relations between form and space. The spatial relationship of spaces must harmonized with the multiple forms used to create three different mood into one escape vessel. I have constructed the model based on the movie HARRY POTTER with moods GLOOMY, MYSTERY and SAD. The concept for these project is atmosphere.

This task is to explore and learn type of spaces that will be use to construct and visualize a model. This portal are use to escape from the selected world. The transition will be articulated by the spatial relations and introducing the volume in it. I have visualize the scene in the movie HARRY POTTER with the mood GLOOMY. The concept for these project is the atmosphere .

PAINT YOUR WORLD This task is mainly about understanding and learn the design elements by abstracting it into painting. The concept of this project is enhancement. The idea is about one character that tries to improve and change to a much better person.

The objective is to understand the connection between space and volume, and the sad mood conveyed in harry potter movie through 3D model. Texture, lighthing, shadow and colour are important to highlight the mood expressed by Exit Portal.

PAINT YOUR WORLD The objective is to show our feeling into 2D abstract. The task is to choose a scene from a favourite film as an inspiration. The painting should show the scene's emotion and bring our feeling to the scene's mood when we see the painting. The film Thor Ragnarok is chosen to convey the mood of dissapointment.

ESCAPE VESSEL

EXIT PORTAL

The task was to build an escape vessel as a way to explore the relationship between form and space. By manipulating forms and spaces, three moods were to be delivered. The escape vessel was meant to be a place to dwell in other world places. Courage, uncertainty and inhumane are the moods selected for this project.

An exit portal aims to explore the relationship betwen space and volume. To achieve it, spatial elements with an interplay of light and shadow are manipulated. The mood for this project is courage.

PAINT YOUR WORLD The aim is to introduce fundamental design elements and express it into an abstract painting. To do so, scenes from the selected movie were used as a source of inspiration. The movie must be from the genres as follows; fantastical, sci-fi, futuristic, or anything that is 'out-of-the-world'. The moods conveyed in this project are courage, happy and curious.

BETAPOK HIDEOUT SHELTER Semester 3 I Mohamad Noor Adli A shelter for the leader of the tribes. This shelter focus on the characteristic of the client which is agressiveness of the tribes. This shelter also highlight on the significant weapon of the client which is his spear. The client is also very rebel in the hikayat.

NAPU K HIDEOUT SHELTER Semester 3 I Anis Nur Syazwani Binti Mantaib The word "Napuk" comes from the word "Menapuk" which means hiding in a Sabahan slang. It is named Napuk as the form of it is hiding behind a waterfall. The purpose of Napuk itself as a hideout for client who is in a giant's size. Privacy is the client's priority. The giant is a secretive being that embraces being alone in the dark , having food as companion and diving behind the waterfall to hunt for food. At the same time, it keeps the client away from the world that triggers his emotion.

[SI] ELANG HIDEOUT SHELTER Semester 3 I Mohamad Hazriq Aiman The concept of this shelter is derived from the storyline where Raja Merong Mahawangsa beats Garuda using his archery skill. This shelter emphasizes on the intersection of the arrow and bow.

LANTANG CULTURAL PAVILION Semester 4 I Mohamad Hazriq Aiman Bin Hazahar The idea was derived from the most obvious feature of the product which is the contrasting elements. The idea is to create the contrasting effect into the building and the site, the contrast of material, the contrast of geometry between interior and exterior, the contrast of lighting and the contrast of void and solid but the most important of all is contrast elements must be complementing each other like the Bungkau.

PUN CULTURAL PAVILION Semester 4 I Micheryl anak Rubat The idea of my design was derived from the exotic fruit Dabai. The idea was to create contrast between the angular seed and the soft, oblong shape of the fruit. The Cultural Pavilion's main focus would be the spiral staircase in the center of the pavilion, where one can experience picking the Dabai fruit themselves.

TERRARIUM SARAWAK TECHNOLOGY CENTRE Semester 5 I Nazifah Binti Muhammad Abdullah Terrarium is an enclosed ecosystem consisting of various life cycles this is reflected by incorporating nature in its design. Organic shapes that are intertwined by a common datum are applied. Through a tech-centric approach, the Sarawak Technological Centre will shine the light on environmental issues and its solution.

MAA Sarawak Technological Centre is an educational place where community especially children can explore and expose to the modern technology such as Al Robotic System, 3D Printing and Drone Application. The intention is to provide a proper children's centre to learn technology due to lack of educational centre around the site location. Not only act as a learning hub but also a place to seek for entertainment and comfort for users.

HILLCREST GROVE RESIDENCES Semester 7 I Nur Aziemah Ban Hock Area is known for its active nightlife however, inactive during the day. This has risen some issues among youth such as small crime during the day. To tackle the issues, the project aims to develop connec­ tion between the residence by providing an open space where the community can easily carry out their activities during daytime encouraging interactions between the users.

Montanero Residence main concept is infusing sports into housing community.Rock climbing is a unique extreme sports that is very common in sarawak that can be explored by all age group.Sport and physical activity plays a key role in people's live and also have a more direct impact to improve physical and mental health.

Meraki Residence is a vertical village urban condominium which was designed to solve the issues of landed housing demand in Sarawak. The idea of maximising the spaces for the people by providing connectivity garden at each units in the condominium. One of the main strategies being the emphasis of vertical and horizontal circulation maximizing opportunities for day to day movement and provide facilities that promotes health through activities of different levels of intensity catered to all ages. In terms of design language, the design aims to emphasize movement, diagonality and connecting communal spaces.

An ethno-sport centre that is specifically designed for Sabah traditional sport, Mamagandal (paddy lifting) in order to widen the exposure of forgotten legacy to foreigners and local communities especially the youths. LASATIX ETHNO-SPORT CENTRE SABAH Semester 8 I Verona Liaw LASATIX Ethnosport Centre is a place where people can experience the culture and originality of the tradi­ tional melastik sport. Human activity is intended to co-exist in a symbiotic relationship with the natural world to accentuate the culture and originality(hunting) of the sport which took place in a natural setting. De­ signed like a small village amongst the tree. Mass of large building is broken down into separate pieces of programs, resulting it} a series of public spaces linking people to nature.

The centre is a combination of traditional sport and cultural events from Kadazan Tribe in one spaces which netizen and tourist can experiences Bamboo Rafting in open spaces and appreciates Sabah Bamboo Traditional music which is Sompoton,the centre where located on the water which highlight the buildings as a sculptural object and focused on rafting as an outdoor water sport.The relationship between the building and the water is so close that the user gets the full experience of practicing sport in its true environment or in simulation.Sompoton music is includ­ ed one of the programme is to emphasize the culturtal element of bamboo hence creating a well being relation­ ship between the nature and buildings

AKU DA ETHNO-SPORT CENTRE SABAH Semester 8 I Wan Irene lzaty

AKUDA ARENA is an ethno-sport center specifically representing the Bajau Ethnic group in Sabah for their traditional sport, Kudo Bajau Netball. This 1.6 acres of space introduces visitors to the game and culture which includes the locals's traditional attire, crafts and vr experience horse riding. Mainly, it is a place to train and compete.
