Exhibition of Graduate Architecture Projects Pratt Institute, Spring 2009 Supervisors: Michael Szivos, Carrie McKnelly

Collaborated with: Bre Crispo, Adam Fisher, Nicole Hill, Jeff Johnson, Andri Klausen, Naveen Mahantesh, Jorge Mendez, Tyler O’Rielley, Eric Olsen, Laura Vincent.

Tasked with curating Pratt Institute’s student work, projects were grouped by design methodology into seven funnels. Images were hung off an adaptive mylar structure which aligned with podiums displaying selected models. My contributions included managing podium design and fabrication. Digital tools were utilized for rapid production and mass customization using a laser cutter

This 5,400 sq ft renovation reconfigured the main entrance as well as the rear patio in an attempt to strengthen the building’s interior-exterior relationship. In addition to providing renderings for this project, I also assisted with the construction documents. I helped confirm structural steel locations of the third level and master bedroom decks.

Casa Herradura flagship store Professional Work Sample Clickspring Design, Spring 2011 Supervisor: Steven Dvorak

After completing Casa Herradura’s brand narrative & website, we were tasked with designing their flagship store in Tequila, Jalisco Mexico. The goal of this 2,000 sq ft renovation was to provide a sensory experience of the different expresions of Herradura brand tequila. Displaying Casa Herradura’s rich cultural tradition helped differential it from other premuim tequila brands. My specific duties included assisting in design and drafting.

smart Car Showroom Pratt Institute, Spring 2009 Professor: Stephanie Bayard

Partners: Anthony Bomben, Kendra James

Being sited in Las Vegas, NV provided an opportunity to reorganize the programmatic social responsibilities of the proposed smart car showroom. An altered typology is created from the separation of programs by hours of operation. Contextual influences and program requirements dictated the reformation of the masses which allows the building to act as a streetscape by linking an existing pedestrian bridge with Las Vegas Blvd.

Constructivist constructions Contemplation Garden University at Buffalo, Fall 2005 Professor: Matthew Zinksi

Constructivist theories served as the foundation of design for a cantilevered contemplation garden. A portion of a CMU wall acted as the site for the cantilevered ‘garden.’ By rotating the top block, a void was formed between the site and cantilever. With the wall acting as a filter, deformation plates indexed structural bands crossing the threshold of the wall. The process structured the garden created continually varied spacial conditions.

Urban (re)mediation Urban Housing Typology Study Pratt Institute, Fall 2009 Professor: David Ruy

The disparity between architecture and urbanism is addressed with the creation of a new urban housing typology system which mediates between these scales. Taking cues from both, this symbiotic housing scheme is formed via local architectural and urban inputs. A malleable system was created at the unit aggregation scale, which allowed the system’s effect on the global organization to be fine tuned to site specific influences such as social and physical infrastructure.
