CO. LAB Innovation Hub
3rd Year Architectural Design Studio
Mentor : Ir. Wiwik Dwi Pratiwi, MES, Ph.D
CO. LAB is an innovation hub that emphasizes the collaborative nature and place making to stimulate the process of making innovations and ideas. Located on a steep topography, CO. LAB is universally designed for everyone so they can work and be creative without any barrier. This can be achieved by designing the barrier-free access, not only outdoor but also indoor.
In order to accomodate not only creative and innovative society ,but also start-up companies, the workstations are mostly open-plan layout. It creates flexible space for users to arrange based on their needs. Besides some workstations, rental offices, library, cafe and restaurants, CO. LAB facilitates the users with common-shared rooms so they can meet, discuss and share their ideas informally.
Enhancing the steep topography, plaza and amphitheatre are designed as public space. Users may work outside the room while enjoying the view around.

The Sadang Serang Housing bring a concept to increase the interaction between people living in the area. The concept is brought up based on the social issue which exist in the current housing: a gap between middle-income and lower-income residents, which is clearly seen by the differences of their house and facilities. The gap does impact on the lack of social interaction between them.
The concept, which also become the design issue, aims to create a space or circulation on the flats and the row house of the housing. This space is intended to increase the social interaction between all residents in general as well as between middle-income and lower-income residents in specific.
The open space is provided in each cluster. The public space for public and social facilities is located on the easily-accessible spot for all residents. There is connecting circulation between clusters as well as with the public space.

DESIGN IMPLEMENTATION
Land Use
There is one type of housing with plot area of 80 m2 and superbuilt-up area of 60 m2. There are two type of tower with area of 48 m2: type one accommodates 18 rooms per floor, while type two accommodates 32 rooms per floor.
Purple = Commercial area
Yellow = Row housing
Brown = Flats
Green = Open space reserve
Road Design
Sadang Serang has a steep contour, especially on the riverside. The closer to the river, the lower the land elevation. The difference between one contour line is 5m. Therefore, the approach to design the main road is by making it to follow the contour. The main road then become the determinant for the orientation of the housing.
Dark red = contour
Yellow = main road
Circulation
There are three road hierarchy in the housing: collector road or main road, primary local road, and secondary local road. The collector road connects two gateways of the housing. One gate is located on Tubagus Ismail Street, while the other is located on Sadang Serang Street. Those two gateways are accessible by public transportation, so it is quite easy to go to the housing. The primary local road and secondary local road functions as road road inside the housing which connects each cluster.
Pedestrian Path
Pedestrian path is located on both two sides of collector road, primary local road, and secondary local road. The path width is 1,5m - 2m and depends on the width of the road in between. The pedestrian path is crucial. Besides for the safety of pedestrian, it is also to connect residents of the flats and of the row house to meet and interact with each other.
Drainage Path
Drainage path is located right under the pedestrian path. It is connected with the road between the pedestrian path to facilitate waterflow. Therefore, drainage path is designed to be parallel to the road and perpendicular to the contour. This is beneficial as the water can easily flow to the river.

OASERA
Mixed Use Building : Lifestyle Center and Apartment
4th Year Architectural Design Studio
Mentor : Ir. Indra Budiman Syamwil, M.Sc., Ph.D.
The design of OASERA is planned as a solution for high-density urban mixed-use in Cipaera, Bandung. The tendency of society in high-density area to move from one place to another place easily from many possibilities of direction can be achieved by making the design horizontally permeable.
With its explorative design of vertical urbanism, OASERA accomodates various programs such as retails, restaurants, entertainment venues, and residential (in form of middle-rise apartment).
The name OASERA itself is intended to create urban oasis both contextual and culturally significant to the area of Cipaera, Bandung,

Lifestyle center
Urban oase to invite people to come and sociallize
Exploration and integration of vertical external space is aimed to create 3 dimensionally integrated public space as well as to maximize the use of the space.The multi-layered rooftop garden acts as vertical public space that gives the society 3 dimensional spatial experience. Public space (commercial area) and private space (residential area) is separated by an urban oase in the middle of the building.
The red arrows show the paths of permeability for pedestrian to come to the site from any directions or just simply pass by as a shortcut.

KALANARI THEATRE ARTS SCHOOL
Exploring the Space of Theatrical Experience
Final Year Project
Mentor : Dewi Larasati, S.T., M.T., Ph.D
Yogyakarta is commonly known as the city of education and the city of tourism and culture. However, contemporary theatre in this city is not growing as fast as in other cities like Jakarta, Surabaya, and Ujung Pandang. One of the institutions that have concerned to develop it more is Kalanari Theatre Movement. Kalanari Theatre Movement has a vision and mission to reinforce the theatre community itself and to acquaint contemporary theatre to the society. Therefore, Kalanari Theatre Movement has roles as client and pioneer of this project (Kalanari Theatre Arts School).
The client has its own concept that is always used in every theatrical performance, that is Site-specific Theatre. The concept then applied to this project as the main concept, Exploring the Space of Theatrical Experience, where space is an important element of theatre. Yet, there are some issues found in the process of designing the project, those are flexibility issue, zonation issue, ambience issue, and technical issues that have contributions to the design later on. Hopefully, this project could help society especially in Yogyakarta to know about contemporary theatre more and give it some space to grow and develop.

A CURE FOR THE FUTURE

Why? Issue
Social Inequality is a common issue that spreads all over country, especially the ones caused by Financial Issue.
But why aiming the children? What interaction drawn between them?
Well, why trouble yourself fixing something from the already fragile twigs when you can focus on creating its solid foundation?
Children are our foundation. The idea is to obliviate what all of our ego has caused for us. With our design we hope to help restore social equality through children. Because they are the cure to our past mistakes.
CONTEXT
Social inequality
The existence of a physical boundary made the society grew apart, in addition of the economical disparity that happened way before.
Potential
Residual space located between residence and village
Lots of children
Zero playground
21
PROBLEMS
Economical disparity
Alam Kanayakan Residence is luxurious whilst we can call Gang Cigadung Kaler as for the low incomes
Social Inequality
Physical boundaries (separating wall), unconsiously makes boundaries between the two societies
Oblivion
Residual Space
KIDS’ PSYCHOLOGY
Four factors that help child’s mental growth as follow:
SOLUTIONS
Social Inequality
Abandoning each other, unconsiously makes boundaries.
Children Gather the children from Alam Kanayakan Residence and Gang Cigadung Kaler in our chosen location to play together, to bond.
MASSING TRANSFORMATION
enrich space experience, split into 2 different heights
break the boundary by making the wall permeable
People forget about their surroundings, their sense became blunt and slowly they will lose their own identity that is as one
Emotional feelings
Social Equality
Their oblivion causes the existence of residual space. Abandoned by both housing, have potential to deunity. Grow Up As they grow up, there will be no more boundary between the two.
With our design we hope to help restore social equality through children.
Physical growth Experiences Social exchange and effective interaction
(Piyage, & Inhalder, 1992)
Designers also classify children’s games from the perspective of a variety of physical activities, needs, and application enironments in the following groups:
High physical activities Innovative Intuitive Solitude and silence
children love challenges! create variety of physical activities
unconsciouly break the boundary! might be unseen, but there is a way!

Smesco Passage
Smesco Passage is mainly designed to attract people to come to SMESCO Building while providing a facility for pedestrians. There are a lot of stalls inside SMESCO Building which display and sell various local products (‘UMKM’) so it needs a way to boost up their sales, by designing an attractive passage and helps to redesign its facade. Project status is now on hold.
