Tri-M is the international honor society which recognizes secondary music students for their musical ability, academic excellence, school involvement, and community service.

PVI Chapter 6113 began in 2009 through Music Boosters sponsorship, and is comprised of sophomores through seniors. Tri-M members continue to be active with community service and performances throughout the school year.

Ms. Sara Prince Choir

Ms. Sara Prince Choir
Ms. Sara Prince is in her 5th year at PVI. She is a graduate of the Florida State University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Choral Music Education. While at FSU, she was able to study under choral leaders, Dr. Judy Bowers, Dr. Kevin Fenton, and Dr. Andre Thomas. Before teaching at PVI, Ms. Prince taught middle school choir and elementary music in Fairfax County Public Schools.
Outside of teaching, Ms. Prince is a choir director at Nativity Catholic Church in Burke, VA. She directs the Youth Choir and Cornerstone Choir, both specializing in contemporary Christian music. She is also a member of Nativity’s Praise and Worship team “Joyful Noise” where she leads worship each month. She is also active in the theatre community working as a freelance music director.

Mrs. Jan Siegfried is in her 18th year at PVI. Originally a hoosier, Mrs. Siegfried earned a B.S. in Music Area Education K-12 from Ball State University. She went on to win a national clarinet audition to enter the professional ranks as Clarinetist/ Solo E-flat Clarinetist in the Air Force Band, Washington, DC. She retired after 20 years and began a new career in secondary music education.

She is an active member of National Association for Music Education, National Catholic Band Association, Virginia Music Educators Association and Virginia Band and Orchestra Association.
