We the People: Portraits of Veterans in America
Daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. National Museum of the Marine Corps 18900 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Triangle In 2010, internationally renowned artist Mary Whyte set out on an inspirational seven-year mission to paint 50 largescale watercolor portraits of current-day American veterans. WE THE PEOPLE: Portraits of Veterans in America is Whyte's remarkable series depicting military veterans of all ages and in all walks of life. Images including a Missouri dairy farmer, Rhode Island lobsterman, Pennsylvania science teacher, South Carolina single mother, and 46 other moving portraits will be showcased together, culminating in a timeless portrait.
Trivia Night in the Republic

Celebrate America
Mon. July 4 | 3 to 10 p.m. Historic Downtown Manassas Celebrate America this Independence Day with one of the largest fireworks displays in Northern Virginia! It’s an allAmerican party in Historic Downtown Manassas, sponsored by the City of Manassas and Historic Manassas, Inc.! The celebration surrounds the Historic Downtown train depot, the Harris Pavilion, and the Manassas Museum. There will be great rides for the kids starting at 3 p.m. The rest of the fun, including food concessions and novelty vendors will begin at 4 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and come early to get the best seats on the Manassas Museum Lawn for the firework display at 9:15 p.m.
Fourth of July Celebration
Mon. July 4 | All day Signal Hill Park 9300 Signal Hill Drive, Manassas Park Come for an unforgettable fireworks display and a variety of food trucks! At dark, pick your favorite spot from a variety of viewing areas and enjoy the show. There will be free shuttles to Signal Hill Park from VRE and City Hall starting at 6 p.m.
Vettes for Vets
Sat. July 9 | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bull Run Warrior Retreat 16013 Waterfall Drive, Haymarket The third annual Corvette show hosted by Willing Warriors is organized by Chuck Berge, a nationally recognized expert, judge, and appraiser of Corvettes since 1988. July 9 | 1 to 2 p.m. Chinn Park Library 13065 Chinn Park Drive, Woodbridge Aurea Franklin, a two Bronze Star Medal recipient, is a veteran of the 101st Airborne Division and will be sharing excerpts from her book Silent Freedom. The book details her service, love, loss, and examines life at war from a woman’s perspective. The fourpart memoir is one of strength, faith, and resilience.

July 17 | 2 p.m. Hylton Performing Arts Center 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas Prince William Little Theatre and the Manassas Symphony Orchestra join forces to present this heartwarming musical about the Von Trapp Family singers, their governess Maria, family patriarch Captain von Trapp, and their adventures and trials in a pre-World War II era. The Weems-Botts Crafty Crafters
Sat. July 23 | 2 p.m. Weems-Botts Museum 3944 Cameron St., Dumfries Bring your craft project to the museum for an hour of relaxation and socializing with tea. Paying tribute to the many items crafted in the museum’s collection, such as lace tatting and blankets, you are invited to create your own masterpieces, ask questions, and work on projects. Tea supplied from Leaf & Petal, a shop in Historic Occoquan. Open to all crafters at all levels of experience!
