29 - 30 APRIL HEREFORD RIVER CARNIVAL Hereford River Carnival is a two day celebration of the River Wye that takes place in, on, beside the river & around the city of Hereford on early May bank holiday weekend each year. It is run by volunteers and regularly attracts around 10,000 visitors. The next spectacular Hereford River Carnival will take place on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 April 2022, a variety of fantastic activities on land and river. REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN VIA EVENTBRITE - IGB’s May Weekend will be unhurried time together, relaxed activities, food and some reflective spiritual time - a few of our activities will have an online element for those who can’t join us in person. We’ll be together just over 24 hours - the venue is close enough to Birmingham for many folks to choose to sleep in their own beds, but there is accommodation for those who need to/ want to stay over. You can also opt to come for just the Saturday afternoon/ evening (if 24 hours seems too long for you!). This is an accessible venue with some accessible accommodation.

Paint-Your-Own-Pottery

Hop on over to The Museum of Royal Worcester for our Easter Paint-Your-OwnPottery activities and children’s explorer trails around the Museum.

At our Easter Paint-Your-Own-Pottery sessions you can choose from egg cups, mugs, bowls, plates, Easter chic figurines and even some very special Dragon Eggs. We’ve also got bird boxes, beautiful rabbit shaped trinket holders and of course water bowls for the four legged friend in your life.

You’ll be surrounded by inspiration in our Ceramic Studio, plus our friendly Easter Bunny staff are on hand to help. Book at table for you or a group of up to six people, then relax as you’ll have an hour and half to try out your artistic skills. We’ve even ordered in extra love heart red paint too.

If you’d like to you can also explore the Museum before or after your Paint-Your-OwnPottery session. Discover our collections, plus we have plenty of fun activities for children including our themed explorer back pack trails.

We are located close to car parks, including blue badge, local cafe Good Roots and less than 5 minutes walk to Worcester’s famous Cathedral, river side walk and high street, so you really can make a day of it. We’ll then discount £5 off your total spend at the end of your session.

Once you’ve finished painting, we will glaze and fire your painted pot it in our kiln. The colours will become richer, and your item will have a hard shiny clear surface – which is food safe should you wish to use it once you take it home.

We need 7 – 10 days to glaze and fire, and will then contact you to let you know your item is ready for collection. We can post your item back to you for an additional cost – please speak to a member of staff on the day if this is required.
