Head into the garden to look our for the enormous painted eggs! How many of these hidden eggs will you find? Great fun for families. You can also join in the planting or craft workshops in the CLORE Learning Centre, where there will be daily Easter activities. Children will also enjoy the Back to Nature Garden, which is filled with fun play elements include two treehouses linked via an aerial walkway, and lots more! It’s a great space for families to have fun in nature. Normal garden admission applies for this event.

SURREY VILLAGES APRIL CRAFT FAIR “Handcrafted Art and Craft” The Surrey Villages craft fairs are held once a month on a Sunday in Shere Village Hall. Our fairs host a selection of crafts from local artists and craftspeople – we only allow handmade items to be sold at the fair. The fairs are free entry and there is free parking close to the venue. Stallholders - Items should be truly handmade by you or by an artist or group you are representing – we do not allow ‘handcrafted’ items that have been imported. We make sure there is a variety of crafts and do not more than two tables with the same type of craft. Standard tables are priced at £30 and one table measuring 6’ x 2’6” and two chairs will be provided per booking. Refreshments will be sold on site and there are also local shops close to the halls. 10:30am-3:30pm.
04 - 07 APRIL SURREY ARTS EASTER The Surrey Arts Easter activities programme returns in April after a couple of years break due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This year sees a significant change to the programme. For the first time the programme is split over two areas of the county, East Surrey (Redhill) and West Surrey (Woking). This exciting programme gives young people the chance to experience a variety of different activities including playing in an orchestra for the first time, trying a string instrument, producing their own music and DJing, being part of a rock band, learning dance routines and being creative in an art class. Programme coordinator Yvette Madden says ‘The Coronavirus made it difficult to run the residential programme which has
been held for over 40 years. However, we have developed a diverse and exciting programme that will be accessible across more of the county giving young people more opportunities to participate in music, dance and art.’ The range of activities for 6 to 16 year olds will run on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 April at St. Bede’s School in Redhill and Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 April at Westfield School in Woking. Activities include: Discover Strings suitable for 6 – 11 year olds (Redhill only) – no experience needed. Orchestra in a day for grades 1 – 4 and 4 – 8 or equivalent standard . Music production and DJing suitable for 8 – 16 year olds – no experience needed The Band Experience suitable for 8 – 14 year olds – no experience needed Creative dance suitable for 8 – 15 year olds – no experience needed. Art class suitable for 6 – 10 year olds – no experience needed

Rachmaninoff’s glorious second symphony will be paired with renowned tone poems: Tchaikovsky’s ravishing Romeo and Juliette Fantasy Overture, Mussorgsky’s chilling ‘Night on Bald Mountain’, and Borodin’s ‘on the Steps of Central Asia’.

Our Create & Grow activities are running from 9:30am – 2pm from Monday 11 – Friday 22 April, weekdays only, excludes bank holidays. Plant a colourful Easter pot – £6 – Advanced booking required. Enjoy planting a bright pot with beautiful plants. Take it home or give as a lovely Easter gift! Booking required for children only and not accompanying adult(s). 23 & 24 APRIL FLEECY FROLICS LAMBING EVENT Merrist Wood College, Holly Lane, Guildford. The College’s annual lambing event, held across two days, is a celebration of nature and countryside crafts. 12noon-4pm. Visit the farm, Sheep shearing demonstrations, Falconry displays, Woodland crafts and stalls. Animal handling, Horse drawn trailer rides, Facepainting, Refreshments and picnic area and lots more….. Tickets for either day MUST be pre-booked online – no tickets will be sold on the day Free parking (if weather is bad, there may be a short walk from the car park).
