SUMMER THEATRICAL TREATS AT FARNHAM MALTINGS!

There’s a packed line-up to keep all ages entertained during the summer months. The programme features theatre, dance, music and film!

First up, Meet Me a Tree is an interactive first opera for 0–2-year-olds and their carers with music by Schumann, Delibes and Handel. HurlyBurly invites you and your baby on a multisensory journey through a year in the life of a tree: singing with blackbirds, marching through fallen leaves, smelling new blossom and feeling the wind on your cheeks.

Meet Me a Tree takes place in the Great Hall on Fri 20 May at 10am, 11.30am & 2pm. Tickets £16 for adult & baby.

Catch That Beast! is a magical, deliciously silly show about a society with one mission: to capture mythical beasts. Through recruiting the audience as new members, the show explores how we interact with wild things and how the youngest among us might bring about change. Full of offbeat humour, original live music, inventive puppetry, and audience participation, it is suitable for audiences aged 5-11. Catch That Beast! Sun 29 May at 11.30am & 2.30pm (outside space) Tickets £8.

The Enchanted Cinema: Jubilee Special, Sat 18 June at 2.30pm, is an opportunity to join cinema composers Gareth Wilkins (piano, harp) and Kieron Chissik (guitar, viola) to create live scores for award-winning animation. Family audiences will help the musicians create sound effects live on stage to become a forest growing, an ocean, gnashing teeth, a flying horse, a penguin, an owl and a snail (what does a snail sound like, you may ask), by using their voice or instruments provided. Family ticket for four: £40
