et’s face it: Week 1 is always exhausting, so treat yourself L (and the family) to this heart-starter of an afternoon tea – Lizzie’s Brownies.

All you need is flour (self-raising and plain), cocoa, two eggs, sugar, butter and a block of Top Deck chocolate (or any other chocolate that you have on hand). You will also need a biggish saucepan, measuring cups and a lamington/square/ rectangular baking tin with some baking paper. I promise you and yours will love it!

Why Google Earth is a computer program that uses satellites and

aerial photography to show all corners of the globe in 3D. You can soar through the sky to the nests of American Eagles in Iowa or California or take a virtual stroll around the Eiffel Tower – the world is your oyster! You don’t have to download it – just browse online and it is a free app for all to use.

Just as a little incentive, the first Boarder to post on our Boarders’ Team who can tell me where to find Menkaure’s basalt sarcophagus wins a $25 online voucher of your choice. Everyone who posts will earn points for their Spirit House. 4


Sunday 3 May When 7.30pm What Goodlet Gogglebox featuring MasterChef Why Two of my favourite shows come together for us all to

enjoy! Join this live event and watch our very own version of Gogglebox – with you as the stars! Simply turn on the telly to Channel 10 and tune into MasterChef. Then, join the live event in Teams and turn your camera on you and your family (make sure you tell them first!) to create our own bunch of Boarder Goggleboxers. I’ll do my best to get Mr Burgess to behave. Let’s see if we can win our own Logie.

Star Wars Day, 4 May, celebrates the iconic George Lucas film, Star Wars. If you haven’t seen it (and you must!) the date was chosen as a pun on the Jedi salutation: “May the Force be with you”. Celebrate this special day vicariously (i.e. watching others do all the hard work).

can tune into one of the 11 movies, The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, Solo – A Star Wars Story, Rogue One, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker. Tell us which character is your favourite and why to win your own copy of The Rise of Skywalker. Week 2 Saturday 9 May When Anytime What We’re going to the zoo! Why Usually we’d go to the Zoo to see VIVID. This time you get an extra treat – call in anytime to check out the animals via https://www.youtube.com/user/TarongaSydney.

You can watch tiger cam, otter cam, elephant cam, or my personal favourite, seal cam – literally anytime of the day. You can also listen to keeper talks on the chimpanzees and even the Komodo dragon. And, here is a challenge, see if you can find out which animal also celebrates his birthday on the same day as Miss Glover and Mardi. The first person to post the correct answer on our Boarders’ Team site wins a $25 online gift card from Lush.

ANG: Stay healthy with tips from our very own Lauren Green, L nurse extraordinaire – with health tips for surviving social distancing, HSC Trials and the HSC! Lauren will share her ideas for choosing food for maximum performance, tips to help you get enough sleep and relaxation strategies.

Friday 22 May When 3.30pm What Boarders Get Baking Why Another chance for you to share your family favourite recipes or Mrs W can make your food dreams come true – just let us know what you fancy!

Week 4 Saturday 23 May When Anytime What Google Earth Voyager

(yes, I know you’ve already been to Egypt!)

Why Okay, so I am addicted to Google Earth and especially

Sunday 24 May When All day What Backyard Blitz Why Get out and about in your own backyard – that might mean

helping out around the farm, mud skiing, pulling out some weeds or going on an iso-friendly walk. Take some snaps along the way and post them on our Boarders Team. All snaps win Spirit House points.

When 7.30pm What Goodlet Gogglebox featuring MasterChef Why And, don’t forget to tune in to MasterChef – follow your chef and enjoy some time on the couch with your Gogglebox mates.
