More opportunities for co-curricular development Our strong academic record is just one benefit of attending Pymble. Pymble is balanced in its passions, demonstrating to students that true success comes from a holistic approach to education; this approach values equally academic success, music and cultural pursuit, sporting achievements, community service and personal wellbeing. The College offers an extensive range of exceptional co-curricular programs, including professional sports coaching, music tuition and ensembles, and can also purpose-design new opportunities to suit students’ individual needs as required, all conveniently located on campus. Nurturing boarding environment The number of Pymble boarders remains small to maximise both personal attention for each girl and its sense of community. Girls live in age-specific houses – Lang House for Year 12, Goodlet House for Years 10 and 11 and Marden House for Years 7, 8 and 9 – designed to nurture and support their needs as they grow from dependence to independence. Pymble’s boarding houses are spacious, traditional buildings. In the younger years, girls share rooms and bathroom facilities, and enjoy the variety of community areas set aside for dining, study and relaxation. Students in Years 11 and 12 have their own bedrooms. All girls are welcome to decorate their rooms, and our boarders take great pride in contributing their own personal touches. Each boarding house looks out onto the vast, green lawns of Pymble and boarders have free access to all of the College’s facilities. We intentionally foster the development of girls at their different stages of academic, physical, emotional, social and spiritual growth. For the past seven years, under the Scholarship of Learning program, Pymble boarding staff have undergone intensive training in coaching girls to understand themselves as a learner, a person, and a contributing member of a global community. This intentional coaching is how we deliver our philosophy of personalised education: we regularly hold these learning conversations so we can know, guide and challenge each girl to reach their potential. The quality of our boarding staff enables us to help each student feel at home after school every day. While we understand there is no place like her real home, we do take great care to provide a caring, warm and loving place where every girl feels she belongs. Pymble boarders may have their own badge, spaces and traditions but they also know they are highly valued as an integral part of College life. The boarding community is proud of its intentionally warm and welcoming culture in which older boarders take care of new and younger boarders.
