Record & Play solution is interesting because the tests are written and edited (!) directly from the application under test on the phone or emulator.
However, the phone must be connected to the computer to save tests. And of course, some additional libraries should be compiling in the application. Fonemonkey is able to keep the tests in the format UIAutomation, so you can run them on “clean” applications after recording. In our opinion, this is the only solution that software testers can use on their own. There is one condition: developers will run the tests or they will automatically fall into the Continious Integration.
