In any software testing project the acceptance document is basically prepared using the certain inputs. But this can vary depending on organization and project. Here are the most general inputs used to prepare acceptance test plans:
Requirement document It clarifies what exactly is needed from the client’s side.
Input from client This can be discussions, informal talks, emails and so on.
Project plan This document prepared by the project manager is a good input to complete acceptance test.
User Manual It is a technical communication document intended to give assistance to people using a particular system. Acceptance test plan may be prepared by a lot of inputs. It is not necessary that it will be from this above list. If you have to add something supplementary, go ahead.
