Salesforce Customization vs configuration

When making changes to your Salesforce platform, it’s important to understand the difference between customization and configuration. While both customization and configuration can be used to enhance the platform, they serve different purposes and implications.

Salesforce Configuration refers to setting up and configuring the platform to meet your business requirements. On the other hand, Salesforce Customization involves making changes to the platform’s source code or architecture. This can include creating custom Apex code, Visualforce pages, lightning components, and other customizations. In short, customization is beyond the standard Salesforce features or platform.

Customization is typically more complex and time-consuming than configuration and can have a more significant impact on the platform.
