Hotel Haarhuis features five completely renovated Promenade Halls, providing the perfect space for meetings, events, parties, or conferences. Thanks to the flexible partition walls, the halls can be used separately or combined. The spacious halls are located on the first floor of the hotel and offer natural daylight, adjacent to our Vertical Farm. The Promenade Halls are equipped with daylight, ventilation, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and all modern technologies, including automatic projectors. When combined, all five Promenade Halls can accommodate up to 440 people in a theater setup.

If not everyone can be present on-site, you can use our video conferencing solution in the boardroom. In addition to a boardroom setup, the City Boardroom offers the option for meetings in other configurations. This spacious City Boardroom is specially designed to accommodate up to sixteen people.

LOFT

Hotel Haarhuis features three Boardrooms/Lofts, which are ideal for small meetings of up to ten people. The Lofts are perfectly situated, making this location ideal for your business gathering. The boardrooms can accommodate a maximum of six, eight, or ten people, depending on your choice of room. Each Loft is equipped with high-quality wireless internet and a 55-inch smart TV. These boardrooms also feature a large conference table, a fully automated coffee machine, and a separate restroom.

Our exclusive space, The Storage, is perfect for a private party, a special meeting, or as a closing reception area. The basement of Hotel Haarhuis has been transformed into a wine cellar and whisky bar. Step inside, and it feels like entering another world. The wine barrels in the cellar take you on a journey to a real wine cellar in France. Here, you have the opportunity to pour your own wine from one of the barrels or take a seat in the armchairs of the Executive Whisky Lounge and taste various types of whisky.

The Storage, including the Executive Whisky Lounge, is available for special events and can be rented for parties and celebrations.

WELLNESS

In the City Spa, you can escape the daily grind and fully relax. Our wellness area includes a Finnish sauna, infrared sauna, showers, changing rooms, and lockers. To complete your wellness visit, you also have the option to book a nourishing or relaxing wellness treatment.

Hotel Haarhuis features a fitness center on the ground floor equipped with the latest fitness equipment. The Koepelgevangenis in Arnhem is a unique location with an impressive history. Where the building served as a detention center until 2015, today it functions as a meeting and event venue. The imposing structure features four boardrooms, three presentation rooms, an underground bar, and various other bars, making it ideal for both large and small gatherings.

Additionally, a range of (team-building) activities are organized, including escape rooms, guided tours, and escape games.

Presentation Rooms

The Koepelgevangenis has three presentation rooms. These presentation rooms served a different function during the prison years, namely the Prayer Room, the Gymnasium, the Chapel, and other spaces.

The Gymnasium,

The Prayer room

The Prayer Room was used to hold church services. One week it was a service for Protestants, and the next week for Catholics. A maximum of 40 detainees were allowed to attend each service, which lasted one and a half hours.

Detainees were given a standard three hours per week to exercise. This could be in the fitness room, in the gym, or on the outdoor sports field. Here, indoor soccer, basketball, or volleyball was mainly played. Sometimes, the guards also participated in a game of volleyball. Once or twice a year, a sports day was held, during which a football or volleyball tournament was organized.

The Chapel is one of the monumental parts of the Koepelgevangenis in Arnhem. In the past, detainees could attend their religious services here. After the renovation, it became a fitness room, and today it is one of the spaces where we welcome our guests and is highly suitable as a meeting room.

THE DOME ESCAPE

In The Dome Escape, you and your gang attempt to escape from the Dome Prison. But beware! You are not the only ones trying to find a way out. For months, a detailed escape plan has been in the works.

If this plan fails, the Dome Prison will go into lockdown for weeks, as it does after every escape attempt. So, put everything on the line to be the first to escape.

Kasteel Engelenburg, with its prime location and spacious conference rooms, has been a popular choice for brainstorming sessions, training, and executive meetings for many years. The rooms are fully equipped with modern audiovisual tools, air conditioning, and a variety of culinary surprises to make your event enjoyable. Ceremony

If you prefer a summer “outdoor” wedding, our Serre is the most beautiful salon for this important moment. With the garden doors open, you can enjoy a stunning view of the moat and estate. On lovely days, you can also exchange vows by the castle moat at the Kaapse Huis.

The Kapel van Hall, where the former residents attended church, is perhaps the most romantic little church in Gelderland. Built in the 14th century, its semi-circular white benches provide a lovely setting for saying “I do.” The ceremony room is festively decorated with ribbons on the chairs and rose petals on the antique wedding table.

Celebration

To celebrate your wedding in style with family and friends, our castle is the perfect venue for a lively evening party. For smaller gatherings, the Van Braambar is the ideal choice, while the Sociëteitszaal, complete with a heated terrace, offers the right ambiance for larger guest lists.

This salon was built in 1850 by the castle’s previous residents to celebrate special occasions with family and friends. We treat your guests to delightful drinks and appetizers.

For your evening celebration, we offer an allinclusive beverage package. Our kitchen team will delight your guests with tasty bites and a midnight snack. For the perfect musical accompaniment to the evening, we have various suggestions to choose from, or you are welcome to hire your own band or DJ.

Course Information

Tee off on a 400-year-old ice cellar, located in a historic park filled with ancient trees. Where the nobility of the 16th and 17th centuries once hunted game, you now focus intently on your ball. Renowned English golf course designer Donald Steel has transformed this nine-hole, par 72 course into a challenge for golf enthusiasts, offering a unique golfing experience with minimal course restrictions.

At Golfschool Engelenburg, both members of the golf association EG&CC Engelenburg and beginners or advanced players who are not club members can sign up for golf lessons.
