Personal Statement In the landscape architecture discipline, I have much preference for landscape design, whose research focuses on creating small and medium-scale outdoor recreational spaces. It creates comfortable and beautiful outdoor living environments through holistic design, bringing about spiritual and aesthetic pleasure to people. I am going to design and build a series of places that make people happy, meanwhile, making myself a person who can bring happiness to others. In addition, being a practical discipline, it is especially attractive to me who has much preference to putting theories into practice. I hope to master the basic design methods of different sites such as park green space, road green space, residential green space, and so on through my study and practice at the University of Edinburgh. At the same time, learn to deal with challenges such as the extreme temperatures prevailing in the atmosphere and ocean, rising sea levels, floods and droughts, and loss of habitat and diversity. In Postgraduate Course: Landscape architecture design: Context and Grounding, I can systematically learn the knowledge of "reading the landscape, fieldwork techniques, landscape interpretation, site analysis, and design invention" and get good practice. At the same time, there are many studios at the University of Edinburgh that gave me a good opportunity to practice landscape design. In addition, I can also learn from excellent classmates around me, ask professors for advice, and go to the library to read. These are all ways I can achieve my goals. I want to be an "all-round" landscape architect. Perhaps, I am destined to be unknown for a lifetime, but as long as someone is happy because of my design, because of my design, the wounded soul will be healed. Well, it made sense for me to be a landscape architect and, in my opinion, was successful.

GATHER DREAMS TYPE:Architecture Design SITE:Xi’an,Shaanxi,China TIME:03/2021 Individual Work Single, living alone, without close friends, far away from home and relatives, come to big cities to work hard, and shuttle back and forth between the company and the front line of rental housing every day.In the evening, going back to the rental house after work, lying in bed and doing nothing, this is the young man on the working day.Every day, many people pour into big cities, and every day, many people flee big ycities. The first tier cities can't accommodate the flesh and the third tier cities can't accommodate the soul, which is probably the anxiety and trouble of many young people wandering in foreign lands.

Nowadays, the number of college graduates is large and competitive. They face a series of problems such as housing, employment, social networking and so on.At the same time, high-intensity work makes them lack exercise time, which is also accompanied by a series of health problems.

In order to alleviate this social problem, an open space was selected to design a residential building where young people gather in Chang'an District of Xi'an. Bring young people together and increase their communication. Everyone is no longer an island. We encourage each other, work together and realize our dreams.

Site Selection

Chang'an District in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province is a place where universities and young people are concentrated. This area alone has seven universities and sporadic residential complexes. It is far from the city center and the housing price is cheap, so it is a temporary residence for many young people.

Downstairs, people can communicate, rest and get close to nature.

In the balcony garden on the building, people can exercise here, or feel the nature close to the wooden frame attached to the outside of the building.

The roof garden located on the corridor can provide people with a short rest. Small waterscape is arranged on it to increase the fun of rest.

Sectional Perspective Sectional perspective of the building facade. It shows the internal function distribution of the building and its relationship with air and sunshine.

Some life scenes in the living module. This is a single bedroom with complete internal facilities, good lighting and good air circulation.

This is the kitchen and bathroom at the entrance. Although the bathroom faces the corridor, it also opens windows to avoid "dark bathroom".

Perspective view of the right side of the building. It shows the various forms of life of residents in the building and their feelings of living in the building. At the same time, the irregular facade of the building is displayed.

PAST AND PRESENT TYPE:City Park Design SITE:Xianyang,Shaanxi,China TIME:06/2021 Individual Work Yangling Demonstration Area is China's Agricultural Science City and the birthplace of China's agriculture. Farmland ridge is the characteristic of this city, but with the acceleration of urbanization, more and more high-rise buildings have sprung up on farmland. In order to preserve the characteristics of the city and let Yang Ling people remember nostalgia, a farmland city park is designed. The design mainly considers the dilemma of urban and rural areas. The rapid development of cities must be at the cost of destroying farmland. However, how can we balance the relationship between the two? The scheme learned from the lavelet park designed by Koolhaas, divided the site into "block system", and superimposed the design like a "thousand layer cake".

Site Selection

The site is located in Yangling District, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province.

SOUL HABITAT TYPE:Costal Park Design SITE:Yantian District,Shenzhen,China TIME:12/2021 Individual Work Xiaomeisha Binhai park is located in Xiaomeisha area, Meisha street, Yantian District. The existing functions of the whole Xiaomeisha scenic spot can not meet the needs of urban development, and the land use efficiency is low. It is urgent to improve the urban functions through urban renewal. The main purpose of the design is to create a coastal park different from the surrounding similar types and create a "place for soul habitat". Put the undulating bridge over the park, and people will feel sacred when walking on it. The dynamic and static zones inside are clear. People can not only release pressure by singing and dancing, but also think about life alone. In addition, in order to deal with the current situation of many typhoons and floods in Shenzhen, a series of response designs have also been made.

Site Selection

The project is located in Xiaomeisha Seaside Leisure Tourism Zone, Yantian District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, with Dapeng New District in the east, Dameisha in the west, Sanzhoutian in the north, and Dapeng Bay in the south. It is 28 kilometers away from Futian city center and 10 kilometers away from Yantian sub-center. It has excellent mountain and sea resources such as mountains, lakes, beaches and reefs.

Design Background Economic Background

Site Analysis

Rail Transit Line 8 is expected to open to traffic in 2022, and it will take 30 minutes from Luohu to Xiaomeisha. The completion and opening of the rail line will shorten the distance between the Yantian area and the central area, and promote the overall improvement of the traffic environment in Yantian and even the entire eastern coastal area.

Section

This is the section in the west of the park. This part is the active area of the park, with children's activity venue, performance stage and catering area.

Planting Design

This is the section in the east of the park, which is the quiet area of the park. It is mainly composed of plant groups and rest and conversation areas near the sea. There are colorful and scattered plants inside, which is a good place to rest.

Rendering

Use low plants in front to create a better view.

Staggered landscape bridges span the whole site.

At sunset, walk on the landscape bridge and watch a magnificent sunset.

As night fell, a music performance came up in the small square.

OTHER WORKS These works come from my hand-painted training during college. I studied sketch since I was a child. When I came to college, I learned two new performance techniques: landscape sketch and pen light color.Landscape sketch lies in mastering lines and using lines to express the relationship between light and shade. The light color of pen lies in coloring, that is, the use technique of marker pen. It should not only pay attention to the relationship between light and shade and the shaping of the relationship between front and back, but also pay attention to the unique strokes of the marker pen.
