Each building’s ground floor is connected to the center sunken park, where the form and shape follows the foot print of each individual building. The sunken park served as a public space for both the users of these group of buildings and other people, can be used as a place to sit down and also as passways that connects the neighborhood. Each building has its own vertical circulation at the ground floor for their individual uses. At the points where 2 buildings meet, the levels turns into multiple height ceiling spaces which are used for amentity spaces’ uses, such as gym, swimming pool, game room, lounge, etc. These amentitie spaces are all connected to their middle level “roof garden”, which provides access to the exterior. Each roof individual building’s roof garden is located at a different height, allowing for distinct areas with some amount of visual connection. The top floor of all the buildings is the large free-plan office area, which provide meeting rooms, individual working spaces, large gathering spaces, with access to the roof-top garden.

The Forest Station T i m e : F a l l 2 0 1 9 S i t e : I s k a n d a r , M a l a y s i a Proifessor: William MacDonald

One of the top threats to the forest in Iskandar Malaysia is the local palm tree farming, it harms the local forest system not only because the farm land taking, but also because the seeds of palm trees encourage the local population of wild boars which leads to severe diconstruct of the forest, This project focuses on developing a superstructure that blends into the forest, working as a connecting point for human and nature, and also a control center and construction defence system that blocks access to connecting farms from the wild boars. It provide as a complex that satisfy the local needs for shops, schools and offices, but also works as a animal controlling center that keeping tracks of the population of the wild boars, and other nature conditions of the area. The project are developed through study of individual of "cells" and their characteristics, which leads to the function of each cells. And also closely connects to a close examination of the natural condition of the forest inhabitants.
