Interior & Graphic Design

MUSEUM

Hello. I am a recent graduate with an MFA in interior design from the Pratt Institute. I studied graphic design at New York City College as an undergraduate. I hope to develop both interior and graphic design in my career. My plan is to focus on interior design because there are so many aspects I need to learn. Eventually I will be able to incorporate graphic design into my interior design.

CAFE + BRANDING

Additionally, I am a caring, easy going, respectful person. I hope to find myself in a place that I can learn from my colleagues so we can grow together.

Location 45 Main St 12th Floor, Dumbo, Brooklyn, NY Type Museum This project is an annex to the Noguchi Museum (located in Astoria, Queens, New York). It combines Noguchi’s personal image with his garden design concept. The Museum, with its theme of intimacy, creates a family atmosphere. It allows users to spend “alone” time with Noguchi’s sculptures. This enhances the intimacy of the space. Visitors will less likely be disturbed by other patrons. Each sculpture sits in its own little “room”. The visitor doesn’t see or experience the next space until entering the next room. This creates a sense of curiosity and thus enhances the visitor experience.

The reception (ticket office) is located in the back of the museum. Visitors will walk past the stores and cafes to reach the ticket office. This design will attract more people to the space. These spaces do not require tickets. This is not only a museum, but also a small recreation area for people to relax, study or enjoy a quiet space. This is a reference to the design concept of the first floor of the Whitney museum.

TIAM TIAM BRANDING

Selected Work 2020

Location Harrison, NJ Type Restaurant Design TIAM TIAM is a family owned bento box store located in Harrison NJ. The original name was the Ding Food Market. The owner wanted to change the branding identities and renovate the store. The new branding was inspired by the time the owner spent at the dinner table with her family as a child. I discussed with the owner about her memories of her childhood. Eventually, a wooden window was chosen as the element to tell the brand story. The whole branding design focused on the atmosphere and style, both graphic and interior.

SPATIAL JOINERY

Interior Design Portfolio

This thesis explores spatial strategies which foster collaboration within the context of a co-living community for single parent families. It examines the normative relationship between public and private space within traditional co-living environments, asking, how can a re imagining of their integration encourage new forms of engagement among residents? While in theory, the co-living model allows parents to have more social opportunities and children to grow up in a diverse environment, most contemporary co-living projects are geared towards normative families and constrain their exploration of cohabitation to a limited number of communal spaces dispersed throughout dormitory style living quarters. This project seeks to challenge current co-living models by generating new forms of spatial and social integration. Sited in East Harlem, New York City, this thesis will enable occupants to collaborate with and depend on one another as a by-product of programmatic and social reconfiguring. Interwoven spatial realms will seek to maximize occupant engagement and foster interaction among the occupants within.

LOCATION CO-LIVING

NEW PROGRAMS (PROJECT FOCUS)

Single parent households are the second largest type of household in New York. According to the data from Citizen's Committee for Children Organization, Harlem and the Bronx have the highest density of single-parent families among the among the five boroughs in New York. The site was chosen in East Harlem.

This is a six-story building, and each floor is about 12,617 sq. Ft. This thesis will be tested mainly on the 4,5,6 floors. However, the first two floors will be modified to maximize the possibility of mutual assistance with the existing programs in the building. The building itself is a commercial building with good load-bearing capacity. The east and north sides have windows that let in daylight from the outside. ENTRANCE

They will cook and eat together there.

The kitchen is available for use at the supermarket downstairs from 5am-7am, 9am-11am, and 3pm-5pm. In return, the supermarket will provide free breakfast to the residents. At other times, residents can cook and eat here.

PLAY BRIDGE

On the sixth floor we can see the most private children’s lounge, which is connected to the parents’ room by an internal staircase.

Play is an important part of a child’s brain development and physical development. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) clinical report, The Power of Play: A Pediatric Role in Enhancing Development in Young Children, introduces how play can improve children’s planning, management, storage, getting along, and emotional control. So this play bridge is designed for children. When they are playing, the whole apartment can see it.

PURITY ADVENTURE

Interior Design Portfolio

Location Fort Green Park, New York Type Outdoor Leisure Since the park needs to be renovated to attract more visitors, I have proposed the following plans. This proposal aims to add a welcoming area to the park intended to serve as a new community hub for the neighborhood while helping to reducing the carbon dioxide emissions that pollute our air. The pavilion is also intended to heighten the curative effects of nature by concentrating air-filtering plants into an inhabitable space. The organic farm provides a place for the plants to grow, which will simultaneously form a place for rest and a place for play that can be enjoyed by all ages. It will generate an area for these activities to serve a diverse population of inhabitants who can use their imagination to utilize the space.

Location Industrial City, Brooklyn, NY Type Office The company’s design concept takes its influence from Latin American music and the passionate rhythms of Bossa Nova. This space has elements that remind the visitor of a tropical rainforest. The color palette is relatively bright. But there is also a laid-back, jazzy feeling in Bossa Nova. So this space will not be as wild and untamed as a real tropical rain forest. Instead, it will have a sense of relaxation in a modern corporate setting. It will be a space that fosters a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
