مبادرة االرشاد المتكامل Integration Counseling Initiative فكرة المبادرة تقوم على تحقيق تكامل بين جميع أطراف العمل باألكاديمية لتقدم اإلرشاد والتوجيه والنصح لجميع طالب األكاديمية في البرامج المختلفة بداية من البرنامج األكاديمي عن طريق حصص النصح واالرشاد " “advisory timeمرورا بالبرنامج القيادي نهاية بالسكن الطالبي . فلسفة المشروع التكامل بين االرشاد النفسي واالجتماعي والمواد الدراسية وجميع أطراف العمل باألكاديمية الرؤية بيئة موجهه ومرشدة وقائدة للسلوك االيجابي . الرسالة تحقيق أعلى مستوى من االرشاد النفسي واالجتماعي من خالل حزمة من البرامج تتكامل فيها االقسام مع قسم االرشاد وكذلك أطراف األكاديمية "السكن والقيادة والقسم االكاديمي وشؤون الطالب " االهداف تنفيذ مشروع مع كل مادة دراسية يتفق مع موضوع من مواضيع االرشاد بما يحقق التكامل . تحقيق التواصل الفعال والتكامل االرشادي مع أولياء االمور. التنسيق في البرامج االرشادية مع السكن الطالبي تكييف البرامج القيادية بما يتفق مع البرنامج االرشادي تدريب جميع العاملين على القيام بالدور االرشادي ما تم تنفيذه من المبادرة اعتماد المبادرة من قبل مدير األكاديمية . نشر المبادرة قبل شهرين بين جميع الموظفين . اعتماد خطة الشهر األول والثاني. ارسال رسالة ألولياء األمور خاصة بموضوع الشهر . التنسيق مع السكن الطالبي . موضوع الشهر المقبل بناء تقدير الذات والثقة بالنفس
Project Based Learning – Grade 11 Us Diploma
During this Semester, grade 11 Physics students did a PBL project on designing a catapult that would provide maximum range. Through this project, the students had an opportunity to have hands on experience to learn the concepts of projectile motion, various factors affecting projectile motion, which includes the mass of projectile and angle of projection. The students were divided into groups and they designed and made working models of catapult using easily available components such as clinical tongue depressors, chopsticks and bottle caps. They came up with individual designs and conducted the experiment with the working model. We also looked at the STEM aspect and incorporated it into this project by superimposing the photos of the projectile at various positions as it travels along its path hence reproducing the exact track followed by the object. The track of projectile was transferred to a graph grid to calculate and verify the horizontal range, time of flight, maximum height and angle of projection. We looked at the possibilities for cross-curricular links and the students taking Algebra 2 course incorporated the concept of quadratic functions into this project as the path followed by the projectile was a parabola. Using the concepts of quadratic functions, students calculated the equation of the path followed by the projectile. Mr. George Chempalathara Department of Science
The English and ESL departments are in the midst of administering mid-term exams and winter MAP tests. The students are eager to revise for their upcoming exams. Mr. David and Mr. Muad from the ESL team have offered up their time in the evenings to ensure the students are on task and have all the relevant information. We wish them great success on their exams! Students will take their winter MAP exams the week before and the week after their midterm exams. This makes for a busy 3-week stretch of work for the cadets. However, after it is over, we will have the ability to see if the students have improved since the beginning of the year. Then, we can focus on certain skills for Semester 2.
presentation of a PBL we have been doing in grade 9. In the Humanities lessons, we were working with the concept of CHANGE in history and the PBL talks about the French Revolution.
