School Safety awareness
children will learn how to communicate and defend themselves in real-life situations involving stranger abduction and bully intimidation. Both escape techniques and communication skills will be taught so students can defend themselves against being grabbed and learn to diffuse problems vocally. safety information will be discussed each week. this program focuses on safety awareness, self-defense, discipline, respect, and self-confidence. instructor: sensei Bob fee: $8 weekly Location: memorial center

Sew into it lessons – Creative Camp
kids will explore creativity and innovation through fashion and clothing. campers will learn how to ice dye accessories, upcycle and redesign clothing, make a no-sew backpack, share their creative ideas with an inspiration board, and learn essential life skills with hand sewing. they will also learn practical ways to use their creativity to make a positive difference around them. creative camp’s instructor is the owner of sew into it and apparel and design merchandising graduate student at csU northridge. campers will need to bring a snack or lunch and a bottle of water. instructor: Laree washington fee: $200/5 classes Location: sports center, classroom
