Preface This portfolio will showcase three selected projects to support my application to the Anhalt University of Applied Science in Master of Arts Architecture (DIA). The two academic projects are done during my Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Architecture at University Tunku Abdul Rahman and the one professional project was done at my time with MJKanny Architect. I believe projects chosen will best reflect my understanding and passion for architecture and its related principles. All three works were manifested from the idea of creating architecture that is sensitive to the locality, culture and environment. These can be seen through the thoughtfulness during the selection of materials, impact towards the site and spacial planning. The projects demanded different challenges to be faced during the creation process due to the typology and topology of the site. This includes being mindful of the environmental impact on construction on a mangrove reserve, breathing life into a community by improving connectivity and interaction between users at the same time being mindful on it environmental impact. Lastly, the tackling of a steep hill with slopes exceeding class 4. The first two project will showcase thoughtfulness during spacial planning by utilizing architecture languages to produce proactive solutions. The architectural design can then be seen to enhance user experience through the formation of identity by tackling current issues. On the other hand the professional project will show my understanding on the technical aspect of architecture without compromising the creativity of the design process.
