This experience can be dif!cult for students who“coasted”through high school. Students might feel inadequate Students start to explore their values. “In locos parentis”problems–students feel depressed because of real or perceived restrictive policies and regulations of college. Students' relationships from home might intensi!ed. They might feel helpless due to distance. Students might feel stressed because of the tighter budget. International students might experience confusion, vulnerability, without anyone advocating for them due to communication issues.
