MEANWHILE... TAYLOR'S #HAIRGOALS Taylor swift has dyed her hair blonde right before going to the biggest music festival in the fashion world, Coachella. The singer, known for being completely in love with Calvin Harris, appeared peroxide on the cover of the latest Vogue. Taylor looks a total babe with her new hair. Just when you don't think Taylor could look more amazing, then she hits us with #theglowup

NO SHOW Bey is not popular with her fans after she didn't show up to the launch of her own 'athleisure' range Ivy Park this week. Apparently the Formation singer, was too busy practicing her dance moves for upcoming show to make it down to the launch. Beyonce's range is said to have crashed the Topshop website upon Ivy Park going on sale. Not cool Bey, but we forgive you.

#MERKY BURGER Stormzy is a big cheeky Nando's fan, so he's gonna be on a hype about this... INTRODUCING THE #MERKY BURGER. One halloumi-filled bun of joy. We've heard that is's not gonna be a regular thing on the menu, but just something to pay homage to our grimey South London boy. We decided to try it, and it is defo worth it. Go get one before its gone.

ZAYN: MUSLIM POP ICON Zayn has been busy since he left 1D last year. He split up with Perrie Edwards, which we cried about for weeks. But he's managed to score uber-babe Gigi Hadid as his girlfriend. He's released a new album this year, 'Mind of Mine' which has turned out to be loved not only by us, but also across the world. It's no secret that white kids have always had white pop idols to look up to: Miley, Taylor, Madonna, Britney...but the South Asian community and its music is not well represented in Western culture. Zayn, with his roots in 1D, has established himself as an artist and is not experimenting in his music. He has audible bollywood themes coming through as well as one song sung completely in Urdu! It will be this We love that Zayn is using his music to deliver the sounds of his parents home country to the masses. It may not be for everyone, just like some people don't like Rihanna's dancehall themes in her music, but we defo love it.

DRIZZY'S SCREAMING BBK AFTER SECTION BOYZ SHOW It's no secret that Drake wishes he was a London boy after he spent all of last year chilling with Skepta in Totty. We could see London influences in songs after his visit. We caught him saying 'wastemans' and 'fam' in R.I.C.O. But we let him off. Last month he left the Brit Awards to make a surprise appearance at the Section Boyz show in Shoreditch where he turned up in all white screaming JUMPMAN! Later that night it seems he signed to Skepta's label Boy Better Know (BBK) - so Drake's love affair with London continues...seems like our Canadian with the Midas touch may be making more visits to London. Drake's new album is dropping soon and we know its gonna be a banger. We've had Summer Sixteen, One Dance and Pop Style on loop since he released them and we're looking forward to a Drizzy summer. There hasn't been one Drake album we haven't loved, so we have high hopes for this one. Look out for Views from the 6 which rumoured to be being released on April 29th 2016.

W

KING KYLIE

does she deserve her crown? Naomi Faye 14

W

Whether you reckon she’s kick-ass or fake AF, you def stalk her insta. King Kylie’s got it (whatever it is), but do you think she deserves all she’s got?

MEGA BABE

FAKE ASS LIPS

Kylie Jenner is epically famous. With over 43 million followers, and a spot in TIME Magazine’s most influential teens two years in the running, King Kylie’s fame-game is legit. Kimmy K has been the most famous woman in the world for…well ever, but even she knows it’s Kylie’s turn.

Yeah, we know they’re fake but at least she admits it! We were totally concerned about the #KylieJennerChallenge, but thank god girls have stopped sucking their lips in glasses. We like our lips without bruises thanks very much. Kylie’s lips are now her trademark. If you agree, and think her lips are to die, her Lip Kit is finally out. Life. Made.

We all know being super famous doesn’t necessarily mean everybody’s a fan. There’s been a total divide when it comes to Kylie. But what makes Kylie King? Well, firstly, her sisters are the Kardashians, duh, famous by birthright. But we’ve got to break it down here. Khlo is funny as hell, Kourt’s a total MILF, Kim’s, well she’s the original, and Kenny, she’s a god-damn Victoria's secret model – so when did Kylie beat her sisters in the ranks of cool? Was it when her lips suspiciously expanded to an on fleek pout? Was it when she started sporting those super-cool colourful wigs? Or was it when she started revealing that booty? Keep reading to figure it out.

What is it about KYLIZZLE!? DAT BOD Have you seen this girl in a bikini? Her body is PERF. While we all went through puberty-blues, it seems Ky was going through puberty-woohoo’s. In her app (c’mon, we know you have it, too) Kylie shares her secret for fuller, perkier breasts. She wears the Bombshell by Victoria's Secret, of course, and it makes them perky af.

HAIR ON FLEEK The Kardashians are known for their dark brown tresses, but Kylie has long since broken this sisterly tradition. The youngest of the Kardashians has had blue, blonde, green, pink...the list puts our monthly trim to shame. Kylie also loves going from a funky short bob to long mermaid waves. We have no idea what’s our fave. Luckily, we can create our own look with her hair extension line Kylie Hair Kouture for Bellami.

STYLE QUEEN (OR SHOULD WE SAY KING?) Kylizzle has developed her own unique style. She’s no carbon-copy of her sisters. From those sophisticated figure-hugging bandage dresses, to bold statement looks like her patterned Adidas numbers paired with Yeezus creps. Kylie is not afraid of stepping outside the boundaries. She shares cheaper versions of her clothes on her app, and we can buy her and Kenny’s new line at fucking Topshop! Can't even wait! Nice clothes, AND tells you where they are from. We need more gals like KJ.

I AM MORE THAN

COOL CRIB She don’t need MTV cribs to show us her house (more like mansion), we get to see it on her app. Yep, at just 18, the youngest Jenner has moved into her new house, and she gave us a personal tour. With its glam room and a closet to die for, we’re now dreaming of a house just as dope. But more importantly, you can’t blame Kylie for living off “momager” Kris, she is totally independent #goals.

INSTA-GAME Ever wonder what it’s like knowing whatever you post will be seen by millions of people? What about being guaranteed hundreds of thousands of likes? With her perfect pout and full bod bikini shots, her followers are kept hanging for the next update. She’s even started the selfie video trend (videoing herself looking seductively into the camera). Well, we guess she’s had the perfect role model, her big sis, Kim, is selfie expert. Check out Kim’s book Selfish to get some tips from the goddess herself.

#IAMMORETHAN On the subject of Insta, Kylie’s campaign I Am More Than may even be making a difference. Kylie featured six stories of people who have been bullied, and turned the experience into something positive. Kylie said, “I think you will all fall in love with them just like I did.” Even though Kylie is famous she gets bullied too, which means she understands how it can damage self-esteem. It also shows she’s not just a pretty face, she cares about the world too.

16

THE COOLEST DAD Caitlyn Jenner is the coolest. Not only has she had the courage to go through a really hard journey in the public, but she’s using her fame to help the transgender community. We’re sure it was a hard transition for Kylie to see her dad change into a woman, but Kylie has been so supportive of her dad and we couldn’t be happier to see Caitlyn living an authentic life.

So…what’s the verdict? Does KING KYLIE deserve her King status? Aside from her mad social media following, TIME magazine named her one of the most influential teens because of her ability to make huge trends in fashion and beauty. It’s not only because she’s famous either, she seems to be business minded, and works really hard. With her clothing line along with Kendall for Pacsun, Kylie Jenner Kouture Hair for Bellami, Kylie Lipkit (it sold out in 30 seconds!), AND her crazy successful app. King Kylie has her hands full! Although, the reason we think she’s the coolest is because of the message she puts out to her fans. “Be yourself” seems to be what Kylie wants us to hear. On Ellen recently, Kylie showed her support to her Dad and how happy she is now he’s no longer hiding.

“I feel like we hang out a lot more there’s no secrets. She’s really living her authentic true self. And I feel like that’s awesome and also I want to be someone from my generation to like be an example because I think that’s so awesome and I think that other girls and boys my age will maybe see that I’m so accepting and be accepting of other people too.” Kylie slays because she’s supportive of everyone, no matter if they’re different. She doesn’t expect us to be like her, she wants us to embrace our own style. “I just want to inspire my fans to be whoever they want to be, because that’s what I’ve always done,” says Kylie. She truly believes that we can all be as cool as her, as long as we’re being ourselves. Kylie, you are IT in our books and deserve to be King!

GIRLS FOR RENT

Japan's secret sex industry

It’s no secret that Japanese popular culture adores all things cute. This cuteness “Kawaii”) is everywhere, from Hello Kitty to the latest fashion crazes. Schoolgirls in Japan follow the these trends, but, scarily, they are becoming a trend themselves...

18

Chantelle Howard

In Japan, schoolgirl culture is big business.

us) but there are also schoolgirl bands performing at music venues to audiences mainly made up of older men! And if you thought, ‘ah don’t judge them too soon maybe they are just there for the music’, think again: at these events, people in the audience can buy polaroids of the girls and even pay for face time with them. Proper weird.

Here, the schoolgirl image is common, used to sell comic books, cartoons and concert tickets. Maybe the most shocking of all, is that schoolgirls are selling their time. If you don't know any better, it seems like highschool girls are paid for walking, chatting and fortune telling with customers (which seems weird enough to

There’s something seriously creepy about older men paying to spend time chatting to young girls, and some businesses are even allegedly exploiting the girls and offering shady ‘hidden options’. We have no idea what is meant by that, so don't ask, we don't really want to know either tbh.

The US State Department’s report on human trafficking last year pretty much confirmed that these walking dates are just a big cover up for what is actually full on prostitution. This gross industry is something many troubled girls or runaways may be sucked into, not realising how bad it can get. With Japan’s shame-based culture meaning many people have a real fear of letting their family down, girls lured in may then feel trapped and unable to return to their family or friends to ask for help because they might turn around and actually kick them out of their house. They don't want a prostitute for a daughter and are notoriously unforgiving in

Japanese culture. Whats so bad about this is that these girls often have no other option than to carry on once they are in. It is so disturbing as not only does it make girls believe they are only worth what someone will pay for them, which is definitely not the mindset a young girl should have, but it is definitely putting girls in danger. There's no quick way to fix the problem, but there are support networks for young girls in need of help. This might do a bit towards keeping schoolgirls out of this industry, but it seems like there is no easy way of getting rid of this creepy industry and the shady individuals who run it.

Wiley

Kano

The godfather of grime, Wiley, is one of UK rap's pioneers and was a major part in the transition from uk garage (so solid crew) to grime as he likes to tell us in his 2008 track What Do You Call It?

Multi-talented Kano who had a promising career as a footballer at youth level, as well as being approached for modelling for Diesel and Mercedes, is known for having one of the best mix tapes Beats + Bars. He followed this up with his first solo album entitled Home Sweet Home, which transcended the genre and brought uk rap to the mainstream. The success of this album was never repeated. However, Kano kept himself busy and appeared as the shady character, Sully, in the successful gritty tv drama top boy, as well as releasing a new album this year.

Wiley is a member of the grime crew Roll Deep and is know for taking young up-andcoming grime artists under his wing (whether they liked it or not) including Dizzee Rascal and later Chipmunk, who ended up having beef in later years. Wiley likes to play Barry Big Bollocks and thinks he's the shit. 20

One of the founding members of grime crew Meridian, named after the Tottenham estate both he his brother and fellow grime artist JME are from, this former producer is still one of biggest and and most relevant stars in the grime scene. His rise to the top started with his legendary 2006 clash with Devilman in Lord of the Mics 2. He has followed with a string of hit albums and singles and has most recently supported Drake on tour. His new album Konnichiwa is out now.

Stormzy Over the past year The 22 year old Croydon resident has established himself at the top of the UK grime tree. His most noteable tracks are Shut Up and It's Not That Deep. He recently introduced boxer Anthony Joshua for the Dillian Whyte fight, which resulted in a Twitter feud between the rapper and the heavyweight boxer resulting in Big Stormz dropping a diss track about the boxer following Dillian's loss of the match. In his track One Take Freestyle, Stormzy mocks him saying 'my man's lost it, man held a beating, the ref should have stopped it'. Stormzy, you savage.

Dizzee Rascal Fix Up, Look Sharp is Dizzee Rascal's debut album and still one of the greatest UK rap albums of all time. Once know as 'Wiley's Prodigy,' the relationship between the two turned sour with Dizzee releasing the single Dylan's On a Hype Now which outlines a situation in which Dizzee Rascal ended up being stabbed 6 times. The events leading up to the stabbing are unclear, however, it it's believed that So Solid Crew member Megaman was also involved in the situation. 21

CULTURE VULTURE

is it too late now to say sorry? Gordon Grant The internet loves a good fight. In-between watching cat videos and rolling their eyes at Kanye’s latest twitter rant, recently the good people of the internet have been getting stuck into the debate over cultural appropriation – usually the act of a white culture appropriating aspects of a marginalised one as a symbol of coolness. Now, full disclosure, I am a white, cisgendered, privileged Scottish male who rarely feels culturally victimised (apart from once when somebody called my kilt a ‘costume’) , so am completely unqualified to represent victims of appropriation. Another white, cis, privileged male, Justin Bieber, has once again been subject to the internet’s fury recently when he debuted his new hairstyle – dreadlocks – at the iHeart Radio Music Awards in April, only months after being under fire for defending Kylie Jenner’s corn-row picture on Twitter.

24

Bieber and Jenner must both have missed Zendaya’s Instagram post who, after being mocked for her dreadlocks at the 2015 Academy Awards on E!’s

Fashion Police (they ‘probably smelled like patchouli oil and weed’), opened up a conversation on the stereotyping of black hairstyles, with them only being seen as fashionable or edgy when worn by white people. Accusations of appropriation, along with a healthy dose of colonialism, have also been raised against two recent music videos. Coldplay’s Hymn for the Weekend, featuring Beyoncé, managed to reduce the complexities of Indian culture to a magical, mystical playground for privileged Westerners. Happy, smiling slum-children threw colourful powder at the band while Brahmin priests in their orange robes filled the tired trope of the ‘noble savage’, all complimented by Bey's imitation Indian dancing. The tokenism of Indian culture continued on her Instagram page, where photographs from filming of the video included the singer in a sari with henna hand tattoos on her, and of herself and Blue Ivy decorated with Bindi. Similarly in Tay Tay's Wildest Dreams video, Taylor is seen as a glamorous 1950s actress falling in love

amongst the African plains. Nowhere to be seen however is a single black cast-member, or reference to local African culture: what we see is a glamorous version of the white colonial fantasy of Africa. In his essay for the Pacific Standard, Aaron Brady believes that the video is ‘an embodiement of Hollywood’s long-standing tradition of nostalgia for black subjugation.’

in their music. Why is an image Beyoncé’s Instagram a more potent symbol of appropriation than the blatant influence of 1970s funk on Mark Ronson’s recent Uptown Special album, or Diplo, Switch and their dancehall-inspired Major Lazer project? Perhaps it is that the images, far more than music, fail to meaningfully engage with the cultures that inspire them, alienating the people that they reference.

These examples are not isolated cases in the music world. Miley Cyrus has adopted twerking and dreadlocks as her own, while Katy Perry has worked her way through geisha history, the African American community and ancient Egyptian culture in various videos and live performances in the past couple of years. It’s interesting that many of the accusations of appropriation and the inevitable defensive responses appear on Instagram - a social media based solely on visuals - but on sites like Soundcloud there are way fewer shots fired at artists such as MIA, Damon Albarn or Björk, who pick and mix diverse cultural influences

There is a fine line between cultural appreciation and cultural appropriation – the deciding factor seems to be whether the culture in question is engaged and the people of that culture are willing participants in the exchange of ideas. The fashion world does not have a great track record of this, let's be honest. Recent cringe-inducing examples include Vogue Italia styling Gigi Hadid in a blue afro for a cover shot, Dsquared2 released a collection ‘inspired’ by Native American culture titled ‘Dsquaw’, and Junya Watanabe’s homage to Africa, with white models walking the catwalk in cornrows and Masia collars.

25

But, the most controversial has to be British fashion label Kokon To Zai, who designed a ‘double hands faux fur patchwork Shaman toweling sweatshirt’ for it’s AW 2015 collection. Critics loved it, until Canadian journalist Salome Awa came across it, who immediately realised that the design was identical to a sacred garment made by her great-grandfather, the Inuit shaman Qingailisag in the 1920s! Are they for real?? The parka, decorated with holy symbols to protect him from drowning, was unique to the Shaman, as Native Inuit religion dictates that sacred patterns must never be repeated in order to reserve

their spiritual powers. The label insisted that it ‘credited’ Inuit culture, however later pulled the item from stores. While most people would recognise that no great art, whether fashion or music, would exist without the clash of cultures, the Fashion world, as well as Bieber, Beyoncé, Taylor and Miley, need to acknowledge that traditional clothing is about more than materials and outfit choices for a culturally diverse people, and that they’re part of their history, community, identity and language. Like, come on guys.

ALEXANDRA BRING squats for life Katie Donohoe

I stumbled across Alexandra when scrolling through Instagram. I was immediately obsessed. As someone who always dreams about their summer body and having abs and a nice bum, she was all the motivation I could ever need. If seeing her wouldn't encourage me to get in shape, I dunno what would. Alexandra is Sweden's most famous fitness model and PT. She owns her own protein range and recently launched her own sportswear brand called BRING SPORTSWEAR. Also, her boyfriend is another fitness model and they are just ultimate #goals. Alexandra is a bad bitch. She works hard, trains hard and says herself that she eats loads. She believes if you train right you can eat what you want (within reason) and is totally AGAINST very strict dieting as she says it never works. Alexandra doesn't care so much about what she looks like, she just wants to be healthy and strong and says all girls should be like that. On her blog she talks about her struggles with her weight as a young girl. She said she was so obsessed with being skinny that she really didn't care much about her health. Her diet was poor, jumping from

29

pretty much fasting one day to binging on chocolate and chips and pizza and anything else she could 'stuff' in her mouth. As I read her blog, I knew I also needed to make a lifestyle change, and fast. I didn't want to cause myself misery always trying to avoid certain foods and I wanted to be HARDER TO KILL. Alexandra hates running and hates cardio in general (sound familiar?) so she knew she would have to train differently if there was any chance of her going more than once. Alexandra was obsessed with what most girls are obsessed with - having a nice booty. "My body was so shapeless. I wanted to find a way to healthily change my shape and to build my booty" she says on her blog. We managed to get into contact with Alexandra who

30

said she would love to help girls to get into exercising and looking after their health and their bodies and so has agreed to write a training programme with us, which everyone can try out. What I've learnt from Alexandra and my PT I now see at my gym (because I'm lazy I need someone to push me!) is that you MUST change it up. At first I wouldn't admit it if something I'd been doing for a while started to feel too easy, but then I realised I'm only kidding myself and I'll never be a hot gym babe if I don't push myself. When I first started training at the gym with a programme I had stolen from Alexandra's website, I hated everything about it. It was hard enough getting there, but even when I was there I thought "maybe I can just sit on the cross trainer today", as the idea of doing deadlifts and squats and push ups and other

things I only associated with men, or hadn't even heard of at all, was so unappealing. When I stopped being a whiney little bitch and just got onto it, I hated it even more! Why are my arms so weak? Why is everyone else around me so good and I'm so shit? This feeling didn't last too long. The first few times I was so taken over with worry and fear that I was making a complete dick of myself that I couldn't really notice the benefits. I would put my weights back, grab my stuff out of the locker and I would be out the door and down the stairs, disappearing like a vampire into the night. Let me tell you now, your body will get a shock the first few times you try weight training. You will wake up the morning after, and the morning after and you will ache, you'll ache like hell, but you'll learn to love it.

LOCAL HEROES

BERLIN: sin city Suzi Hesketh

I moved to Berlin right after my Mum died. I was 19 and it was roughly two weeks after her death that I cracked. I couldn't sit around with my Dad and my sister crying for one more minute. I know that I probably sound like a heartless bitch, but I'm not. I'm just fiercely stoic, as it is highly dangerous for a girl like me to get emotional, which is why I hold things in. If I were to open my Pandora's box, who knows what other demons might emerge from the darkest corners. So, instead of just letting the mourning process begin like a normal person, I decided the best thing for me was to move to Berlin where I could forget all the shit going on at home, and just be someone else for a while. I planned on going for around 6 months, enough time that my family wouldn't still be crying into their cornflakes about my Mum, but also short enough a time that I wouldn't really miss home too much. I didn't come back for 3 years. I moved to Berlin in February, first mistake. Think it was -20 degrees for the majority of my first month. My friend Jamie came with me when I moved. I allowed her to on the proviso that she would not talk to me about my Mum and she would not hound me with questions about money, responsibilities or jobs. Instead, we talked about German boys, Berlin's techno parties, Russian Disco and how I would survive without Weetabix - which it turns out they have in Germany, so that worked out ok at least. Jamie and I looked around the city together, mainly avoiding the main tourist spots, trying loads of different kebabs, and rifling through rails of clothing in one of Berlin's largest vintage shops in Nollendorfplatz. Jamie left after 5 days, and I was alone. I didn't leave my hotel room after that for 3 days straight.

42

43

On the 4th day I realised I was being completely ridiculous and needed to do something with my time. So I visited the Goethe Institute and I enrolled on a 4 week German course. I hadn't said a word of German since GCSE so I don't even know if I could have asked where the toilet was if I needed a shit. I started the course the next week and I was so happy to have some people to talk to. I had been bumming around alone and now I had some like-minded people to get to know. I met Gregorio and we clicked instantly. He was a massive joker from Italy and we ended up spending a fair bit of time together in the first few days. Turned out Gregorio had moved to Berlin to meet his friends Federico and Massimo who he knew from home. They all lived together by Kottbusser Tor, and Gregorio invited me round on Saturday night. I've never experienced anything like their Berlin apartment, and probably never will again. It was like a wonderland of colours and smells and a guy was playing deep house on the decks. Everyone was sitting in a circle drinking and smoking weed. Gregorio made me sit on his lap and offered me a hit on his shottie and from that

moment on things were never the same. That was the moment I lost myself. These parties happened almost daily and often ended up in Berghain or Katerholzig, some of the best clubs in the world, let alone Berlin. I met Autumn, a friend of theirs from Australia who I felt like I'd known all my life. She became my best friend, but we weren't the sort of friends who tell the other to text to let us know they got home safe. We were the sort of friends who indulged in dangerous behaviour and frequently met to get wavy. Our evenings of drinking beer and smoking a bit of weed quickly descended into popping a couple of pills and then to having a little line of coke, until one day Autumn was waving a needle in my face telling me, 'Suziiiii you will LOVE this'. How did I get here? I had never touched any sort of drug before I came to Berlin and now I had Gregorio's friend, Turk, holding a belt tightly around my arm while Autumn pumped heroin into my veins. I'm not sure exactly how long this all went on. But I knew that I no longer knew how to have fun without taking drugs,

and that I had a serious problem. I had spent so much of my savings on drugs, and when I couldn't afford any I gave 'special favours' to Gregorio, who I began to notice was not really a friend at all, and neither were the others, especially Autumn, who seemed to always want me to be just that bit more fucked than her at all times. They were all living their own hedonistic lives and I realised that I was the only one who was falling apart, but I couldn't do anything to stop it. They were a drug to me as much a the substances. One evening Gregorio talked about having a 'FESTA' which he always says when its gonna be a big night. we were all heading to Zur Wilden Renate, a club designed like a house party, it was one of our regulars, and this night was to haunt me forever. We were all getting on it as usual, but I

obviously didn't know my limits. It was a final wake up call for me when I woke up to find myself lying by the river, naked and alone at 3.30pm the following day. I still don't know how I got there, and why my friends I had known for nearly 3 years were nowhere to be found. I had no phone, no money and no clothes. The police had to come and pick me up and take me to hospital where it was confirmed I had overdosed. Two days later I flew back to the UK to see my sister and my Dad who barely recognised me. I was in rehab for 6 months and now I am recovering but still fight an internal battle everyday. I never go to clubs, I never drink or smoke and I never talk about Autumn and the others. It was the darkest time in my life and I am not proud of the person I became and I'm trying to find the person I lost.

TAVI GEVINSON new crib Ulrike Kunert

We love Tavs. She's a one-woman super empire and she's killin' it. I mean, she's only 19 but she just bought her first apartment in NYC. Could we be more jealous? She started Style Rookie when she was 12 and she is now the proud owner of a property. Originally from Chicago, this babe has moved to the big city and we have had the chance to take a peek inside and to meet her ourselves. First thing we notice is the David Bowie and Cocteau Twins records. She said she wanted her apartment to feel collegelike and says she made it a 'little LA'. She has 'PLANET QUEEN' hanging over her net curtains and piles of books, from Marlene Maurhoff’s Sulamith Wßlfing

which was given to her by Stevie Nicks, to Franรงois Truffaut's History of Adele H and various 'colouring books' and a book entitled 'People to Kill'. Tavi is so cool. Her apartment just seems like a dreamy world of pastel colours, amazing shoes (miu miu) films and toys. Her room makes her feel like she's 12, she tells us. It transports her back to the days when she had no responsibilities, just enjoyed herself and her company and lived in her imagination. Tavi said she feels so grown up having her own apartment, but is using it to live in the time she loved the most - her childhood.

It's like a very adult thing having my own place, it feels like a fort... Its nice to have this space the same as me when I was 12, just being in my room, listening to records and watching movies and looking at books and reading and being a kid! It's nice to just be in my imagination and sit around here and paint and do whatever. That's why being around here is so important.

JESSICA WOODLEY girl got swag

Bianca De Sousa

So, we were lucky enough to meet Jess from Made in Chelsea, who we have been girl crushing on for, well, forever at QB HQ. Jess has the most amazing style, which I have been trying to channel for ages, but always end up resembling the sort of creatures you see on Jeremy Kyle. She always looks fucking cool in errrrythang she wears, and it seems so effortless, and as much as I love her, it makes me well jel. I put it down to her having one of those infuriatingly beaut faces that goes with every hairstyle, whether it is two buns, braids, the unbrushed bedhair look that we all give a go every now and then, but never pull off and alwyas just look like a hobo. Jess turned up to meet me in Starbucks, as you'd imagine, with her outfit on fleek with a big smile on her face. Hi Jess, how is your day so far? Hi! I'm so sorry I'm late, I have no excuse, I just find it really hard to get out of bed. It pisses off a lot of people! HA that's fine, I'm the same. So tell me what you're wearing today I love your outfit! These are my new silk trousers, do you like them? I wish I could tell you where I got them, but I actually had them made by a friend I know who studies at Central Saint Martins. I wanted some for ages, and they are really hard to find. But I have barely taken them off since I got them. My shoes are Nike Air Force 1, standard, and this jumper is LA Dodgers, I love big jumpers! So Jess, what do you do with yourself when you're not on MIC? I'm actually collaborating on a few film projects. I love film making, its a passion of mine and I hope I can forge a career in that field one day.

Are you looking forward to the new series of Made in Chelsea? Yes, I am actually, its gonna be quite dramatic I think, it always is at the beginning of a new series. New people are introduced and it just kicks off. Usually its to do with Spencer, but he's not in the show now. Shit, am I allowed to say that? And Jamie though right? What does the future hold for Jamie and Jess? Ahahaha, I knewwww you were going to ask me this! Jamie and I are friends again after all the drama last series. We have been hanging out a bit since, but I'm very wary not to give off the wrong signals! Which is hard, because it's Jamie and he can't read girls at all!

Does anything happen with Binky and JP this series?

What are you listening to right now and what would you recommend to our girls?

Ohh you're going to get me into trouble! I really can't say as I would be ruining the show, but you'll find out really soon. And same goes for any other love stories you might want to know about. My lips are sealed unfortunately. But you'll be in for a few surprises!

Oh I'm LOVING Fugazi right now. That's probably not the best suggestion as they are seriously old. But I'm also playing a lot of James Blake. I love the new album with some collabs with Frank Ocean, love Frank. Also, I'm really liking Shonky's old stuff, and I heard he's bringing out a new EP in June. I'm not that good with keeping up with music. I always know music, but never know who it is.

So who is your favourite girl and favourite boy on MIC? Ahhh, such a hard one! It would have to be Lucy for the girls. She's just so cool! She has her own jewellery range and she's killin' it! We do a lot together, we shop, we brunch, we have movie nights, she's probably my MIC BFF. Her and James are the cutest couple as well. Ultimate relationship goals... for when I want a relationship, Jamie. LOL. And yes, for the guys I have to say Jamie too. He's really funny and we do bounce off each other. He's sort of like the male version of me, but sort of different, if you get what I mean.

And finally, thanks so much for meeting with me, can I also just ask what your plans are for the summer? I actually have no plans! I'm usually pretty spontaneous. I really want to go to a few festivals though, I like the look of Melt! in Germany, also have been thinking about going to Wireless, but that's not really a festival when you can get the tube home. I'd like to go away to Mexico or something. TACOS! Was so good to meet you, hope I haven't been too boring!
