Internship Opportunities QMUL

2 – Internship opportunities

Internship opportunities Internship opportunities have obvious advantages to Queen Mary University of London students, but they can also be greatly beneficial to your business: • Allowing you to access a talented workforce on a short term basis, enabling you to pursue projects that you may not otherwise have the time or resources for. • Gaining a fresh perspective and new ideas for your business. • Bringing the latest academic knowledge into your business. • Plugging a skills shortage – delivering significant and tangible outcomes. • Assisting with your future talent pipeline, internships often lead to offers of full time employment. • Building long lasting links with the Queen Mary University of London community. The whole recruitment process can be managed for you. Our experienced Employer Engagement and Internship Coordinators will work alongside you to understand your requirements and match you with current students from Queen Mary University of London who are looking for internships (typically six to twenty four weeks in duration). You are never too big or too small, we supply interns to MicroEnterprises, SMEs and Multinational companies. We can offer limited funding opportunities for SMEs through our partnerships with Santander Universities, The Drapers’ Company and the Higher Education Innovation Fund.

4 – Step 1

Step 1 Develop a project idea Consider your project needs and what the student will realistically be able to deliver. We can provide guidance and advice to help you produce a job description for your intern. As a University we have a duty of care to our students. National Minimum Wage is a legal requirement. However at Queen Mary University of London we advocate the London Living Wage (currently ÂŁ9.75 per hour). You will need to provide a workspace in an office environment or co-working space. You cannot be homebased and the intern should not work remotely.
