PRAYING Times! Fervent prayer….Fresh power!
A Season of Thanksgiving Prayers of Thanksgiving
Volume 2, Issue 2, Oct—Dec. 2009
As the end of chapter 2009 in the book of life comes to a close, let us remember to be thankful unto the Lord and bless His holy name. The end of a year is always a season of thanksgiving because our thankful attitude will give us a greater expectation and anticipation for a New Year. Regardless of the challenges or unpleasant circumstances in 2009 we can still be thankful because it’s obvious we made it through them. As God’s chosen people, we must always be thankful knowing it is God’s will for us who belong to Jesus Christ (I Thessalonians 5:18). This season of thanksgiving is an opportune time to reflect on every aspect of your life and focus on God’s goodness, mercy and faithfulness. One of the greatest reasons to offer prayers of thanksgiving is for God’s presence in our lives through the person of the Holy Spirit. When I read I Chronicles 16:4, it was a praise celebration as they brought the Ark of God back to Jerusalem. The Ark represented God’s Presence. David appointed Levites to lead the people in worship before the Ark of the Lord—to invoke his blessings, to give thanks, and to praise the Lord, the God of Israel.
“Call unto me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” —Jeremiah 33:3
Seasonal Scripture for Thought “Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” —I Thessalonians 5:18
Giving thanks, being thankful, and having a “spirit” of thanksgiving invokes God’s Presence! Guess what? If we have a grateful heart, and practice being thankful we can live in the power of his presence because he inhabits the praises of Israel (His people). These are PRAYING TIMES! Let us devote ourselves to seeking the face of God. Let us enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise, be thankful unto him and bless his name.
Get ready to receive the abundance of blessings that God will bestow upon you and your seed as you continue in the “season of thanksgiving” all the days of your life.
