Working with content in your publication This document describes how to work with site content within your Queen’s Lenya publication. Instructions describe using the Queen’s Lenya interface for content-related tasks.

To create site content: 1. Log into your publication through the Queen’s Lenya interface. a. In a web browser, visit Queen’s Lenya. b. Log in to your publication using your Queen’s NetID and password. 2. Navigate through your site to the area you want to create a new page in. 3. In the menu, choose File > New Document. 4. Enter in the page information as necessary to identify the new page. a. At this point, the document exists within the authoring site tree of your publication. 5. To edit the page, choose Edit > Edit with TinyMCE. TinyMCE is the web editor that is available with Queen’s Lenya. 6. Create page content as necessary. a. Text content can be entered in through the editor, with formatting options available through the TinyMCE interface. b. Images can be inserted through the TinyMCE interface. Since images are assets in the publication, they should be uploaded through the Assets panel within the SITE tab before being inserted into a page. c. Links can be inserted through the TinyMCE interface. When links are references to other files that do not exist outside of the publication (e.g. within QShare or an external website), those files are assets in the publication and they should be uploaded through the Assets panel within the SITE tab before being referenced by a link. 7. Save the page using the Save button in the TinyMCE interface. Use the Cancel/Exit button to return to your publication. 8. Submit the page for publishing. a. In the menu, choose Workflow > Submit to manually submit the page for publishing. b. In the menu, choose Workflow > Schedule to schedule a date and time to submit the page for publishing. 9. Once the page is published by a reviewer, the document exists in both the authoring and live site tree of your publication.

To edit existing site content: 1. Log into your publication through the Queen’s Lenya interface. a. In a web browser, visit Queen’s Lenya. b. Log in to your publication using your Queen’s NetID and password. 2. Navigate through your site to the page you want to edit. 3. In the menu, choose Workflow > Deactivate.

a. At this point, the document is exists within the authoring site tree of your publication and is no longer live. 4. To edit the page, choose Edit > Edit with TinyMCE. TinyMCE is the web editor that is available with Queen’s Lenya. 5. Edit page content as necessary. c. To delete site content: 1. Note that Queen’s Lenya system backups are made regularly, but not with each operation within a publication. Please make sure you have backup copies of a file before you delete it. 2. Log into your publication through the Queen’s Lenya interface. h. In a web browser, visit Queen’s Lenya. i.

Log in to your publication using your Queen’s NetID and password.

3. Navigate through your site to the page you want to delete. 4. In the menu, choose Workflow > Deactivate. a. At this point, the document is exists within the authoring site tree of your publication and is no longer live. 5. In the menu, click on the SITE tab. 6. Find the document in the authoring site tree. Select it and choose Edit > Delete. 7. Once the page is deleted from the authoring tree, it exists in the publication Trash until an administrator clears the Trash.
