Instrument tutorials

Open Rehearsal (plus Q&A) with The Con Artists and Dr Stephen Newcomb Jazz Elective Session including improvisation, sight-reading and rhythm sections

Queensland Conservatorium's Head of Jazz Dr Stephen Newcomb and jazz virtuoso and educator Dr Simon Petty are leading the weekend alongside other prominent jazz educators and performers. This will be an engaging, educational and skill-building weekend for students interested in expanding their jazz skills.

When? Friday 15 September - Sunday 17 September 2023

Where? Queensland Conservatorium’s South Bank campus in Brisbane.

Who can attend? This opportunity is open to primary, secondary and tertiary students - who have at least 2 years of experience (AMEB 2 and above) up to advanced performance levels. A Teacher PD Jazz Reading Session will also be held, which is free of charge for teachers to attend. Please register your interest by contacting us.
