Student Band Night

CONFUSION Thursday 19 May - Ian Hanger Recital Hall First formed over 16 years ago, Confusion has firmly established itself as one of the premiere jazz ensembles at Queensland Conservatorium. Jazz has many influences, and Confusion delves into the genres of jazz-rock and fusion first brought to prominence by Miles Davis in the late 1960s and further developed by bands such as Return To Forever, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report and Headhunters in the 1970s. This form of jazz continues to be popular and Confusion draw upon the vast repertoire of music that has been made available by artists such as Steely Dan, Snarky Puppy, Chicago, Weather Report and Hiatus Kaiyote, whose compositions will be included in tonight's performance.

Directed by Jose McLaughlin, Confusion 2022 consists of: Iz Wilson Etienne Steven Atticus Shipstone Oscar Gill Kurtis West Mark Mirhan Reuben Rees James Todd William Rowse Mae Carlisle Sam Hudson Jamie Brillus Damien Correia
