Anna Rabinowicz Flautist Anna Rabinowicz is an emerging artist on the Australian music scene, who has been selected for national programs including the Australian Youth Orchestra National Music Camp, Australian Festival of Chamber Music Winterschool and Ensemble Offspring Hatched Home Academy. She is in her fourth and final year of a Bachelor of Music (Performance) at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, where she has been studying with the acclaimed flautist, Ms Virginia Taylor. In 2021, she was selected as the sole woodwind nominee for the prestigious Brisbane Club Award, and recently performed in Queensland Conservatorium's Side by Side chamber music concert, alongside Associate Professors Paul Dean and Peter Luff. She performs regularly as Principal Flute with the Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra, and has held Principal Flute and Piccolo positions with the Conservatorium Opera and Wind Orchestras. In 2020, Anna performed as soloist with the Conservatorium’s Badaboom Percussion Ensemble, with whom she played Andre Jolivet’s virtuosic Deuxieme Concerto: Suite en Concert. Anna is also a three-time recipient of the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence. A versatile chamber musician, Anna has played in various ensembles. She is a founding member of Duo Liberta, alongside classical guitarist Jeremy Stafford. Their recent performances have taken place at venues including the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, for an audience of over 2000 people, at St John's Cathedral and at the State Library of Queensland. In 2020, she performed with the Delma Wind Quintet at the Roma Street Amphitheatre for the 4mbs Shakespeare Festival. As a conductor,
Anna has been selected for national and state programs including the Symphony Australia Scholar Conductors' Program and the Melbourne Youth Orchestra Conductor Development Program. Anna is currently the conductor with Women of Noise, an organisation which seeks to promote the compositions of women and non-binary people. Raised in Melbourne, Anna has a wide background in music: she is accomplished at piano, which she continues to study with Caroline Almonte, and violin. She has also loved singing in choirs from a young age. Julia Hill Recent recipient of the prestigious New Colombo Plan Scholarship and ThinkSwiss Scholarship, violinist Julia Hill has flourished into passionate performer of classical music. Guided by former Arditti String Quartet violinist, Graeme Jennings, she was appointed Concertmaster of the Curro Chamber Orchestra at the Australian Youth Orchestra’s National Music Camp 2020 and has achieved an Award with Distinction on her Licentiate of Music, Australia. Since moving to Brisbane in 2018 from Hervey Bay, Julia has enjoyed many musical engagements including being appointed Principal Second Violin in Queensland Youth Symphony 2019, and working alongside professionals in national ensemble, Southern Cross Soloists. She has performed as a soloist alongside the Indooroopilly Chamber Orchestra, Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra and most recently with the Brisbane Concert Orchestra. Additionally, she has performed in the 2021 Brisbane Music Festival as a young artist, in which she presented a 60-minute recital with pianist Francis Atkins. With a 2020 New Colombo Plan Scholarship, Julia has turned to overseas study to propel her love for music. In 2022, she will undertake study, internships and language training in Japan. During her program, she will investigate the role music plays in Japan’s society and is looking forward to collaborating with Japanese musicians and educators as part of her Honours thesis. Graeme Jennings Graeme Jennings is a former member of the legendary Arditti String Quartet. He has toured widely throughout the world, made more than 80 CDs, given over 300 premieres and received numerous accolades including the prestigious Siemens Prize and two Gramophone awards. Active as a soloist, chamber musician, ensemble leader and conductor, his repertoire ranges from Bach to Boulez and beyond. Graeme is a member of Australia's internationally acclaimed new music ensemble ELISION as well as the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, the Argonaut and the Kurilpa String Quartets. He has also performed as Guest Concertmaster of the Adelaide, Melbourne, and West Australian Symphony Orchestras and Guest Associate Concertmaster with the Sydney Symphony. As a conductor, he has directed various ensembles in Europe, America, Asia and Australia. In 2009, he joined the faculty of the Queensland Conservatorium as Senior Lecturer in Violin and Viola. He has also taught the violin studio at the Darmstadt International Summer Courses for New Music since 2012.
