12-13 Annual Report
What has Quest done for you lately?
2012-2013 President Letter Unlike traditional for-profit organizations, a not-for-profit organization delivers dividends to its shareholders (in our case, members) in the form of enhanced services. As an independent Oracle users group, Quest strives to enhance the user community by delivering improved services, more valuable educational offerings and an enhanced member experience. Each year, the Quest board strives to truly answer the demands of the community, and as my tenure as President comes to a close, I wanted to highlight three accomplishments that I’m most proud of.
Quest 2012-2013 Board of Directors President Jeff West, Questar Vice President Patrick Kys, Lafarge Americas Treasurer Kirby Miner, Trex Company, Inc. At-Large Officers Amy Doherty, AARP Jim Whalen, Boston Properties
1. Based upon feedback from our community, we created and hosted two new product-focused events, PeopleSoft RECONNECT and JD Edwards INFOCUS. This was in response to the numerous requests from the community for true deep-dive educational opportunities. We delivered this enhanced service and now have a repeatable process in place to recreate it annually so our members can network, learn and advocate for changes to products directly with PeopleSoft and JD Edwards developers.
Immediate Past President Mike Whitmer, Advantage Resourcing & Staffmark
2. Quest continues to play a major role in delivering COLLABORATE, the only global conference focusing on the full Oracle application and technology ecosystem from the user’s perspective, providing high-level education around best practices, roadmaps and usability of your Oracle investments.
Darrell Hawkes, Turner Industries Group, LLC
3. We licensed and implemented Oracle Fusion CRM in an effort to improve all communications to the community and more effectively use the data we collect to improve YOUR experience. Oracle has done numerous studies on the satisfaction of their customers and has found time and time again that product users that are involved in a users’ group are more satisfied with their Oracle products. It makes perfect sense to me. Through Quest, members can find resources to maximize the value of their Oracle technology, specifically around PeopleSoft, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or JD Edwards World. You have access to the incredible vendor partner community in one organized location and your voice is strengthened by joining with other customers to advocate directly to Oracle. Furthermore, Quest has renewed its focus on Special Interest Groups (SIG) and has added a new staff member dedicated to serving SIGs, including bringing all PeopleSoft SIGs into the Quest community. There are so many successes and improvements to touch on that it won’t fit into one letter. We are setting even higher goals for the upcoming years. The organization has strong leadership, is in good fiscal shape and has a great organization – thanks to all of you and your efforts. Quest is THE home of the PeopleSoft user and we continue to invest in that community. We are also still dedicated to the JD Edwards community and fully engaged in the needs of its users. This is just the beginning of what we see as a great reason to be a part of Quest and I look forward to seeing how the group continues to grow and evolve. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you as the President of such a quality organization. Thanks for the memories,
Jeff West
