BODY TYPE
Many women possess this body type before and after giving birth; your waist is 3-4 + larger than the width of your hips and bust. A general rule for this body type, is not to hide the area with excess fabric (that just makes the middle section look larger) but to hug the lines of the body to create a slim and elongated silhouette.
FIT GOALS Always highlight by cinching at the waist Follow the body lines and keeps details in the top or lower third of your body
STYLE DETAILS Scoop, square, or sweetheart necklines Wide leg pants, A-Line, and short flared skirts Fit and flare dresses

SHOPPING FOR YOUR BODY TYPE
SHOPPING DO’S Look for details above the bust and below the hip line - for everything in-between, keep it plain and simple Look for silhouettes fitted under the bust as well as below the your arms, and along your waist Look for softer fabrics along the top half of the body
SHOPPING DONT’S Avoid details at the bust, tummy, and hips. Avoid sleeves that land next to the bust Clothing that lands at your fullest point watch jacket and cardigan lengths Avoid double breasted coats or jackets, and high-waisted trousers or waistbands
SHOPPING RULES Rule of 3: can you wear it with at least 3 items in your closet? For 3 different kinds of occasions? Try. It. On. Hanger appeal is not a great judge of how it will look on your body. If you’re on the fence, take it to the fitting room!

STYLE PERSONALITY
All black everything is your motto, it is your uniform, your suit of armor to face the streets of New York. Here are some tips for your look: Spice up your look with a fur vest or leather jacket. Go from work to night by pairing that work shirt with a leather or suede mini. Break up the monochrome with subtle print/colors in your blouse, lip color, nails, a cocktail ring, or clutch. Add some luxe details to your bag by hanging a fur key ring on the handle.

CLOSET TIPS!
A short list of some of best tips on how to turn your closet into a treasure trove of outfits: Flip all of your hangers to face the same direction. Every time you wear an item, put it back into your closet with the hanger hook facing the other direction so you know you've worn it. In 3 months you'll have a better of idea of what is simply decoration in your closet and in 6 months, you will know with certainty what to donate, consign, or trash. Pair one of your "go-to" piece with something new. You know that dress you're wearing every other / every week? Maybe it's time to give it a rest and your colleagues (or significant others) some excitement. Layer a button down under that dress, or put a cardigan or jacket on top and cinch it with a printed belt. Remember: if you buy a piece you can't wear with at least 3 items in your closet, you're not just paying for that skirt, you're paying for the top, jacket, shoes, and jewelry to go with that dress. Hang your jewelry next to your closet. We often have clients that tell us they need help accessorizing, yet we see jewelry boxes but no jewelry. If you don't see it, you won't wear it. Lastly, write down what your personal goals are. If you want to be "Classic, Sophisticated, and Chic," write that on a post it and put it next to your full length mirror. Does the reflection reflect how you want to be perceived?
