YOUR PERSONAL STYLE ASSESSMENT

PERSONAL BRAND = Approachable, Put-together, Straightforward BODY TYPE = No curve STYLE PERSONALITY = Traditional, Classic

Rosie F.

BODY TYPE

Your body type: the bust, waistline, and hip width are within 1-2 of each other. To create the illusion of curves, select silhouettes and cuts that create volume at the bust and hip line.

FIT GOALS Always highlight the smallest part of your waist Follow the curves of our body with details at the bust and hips to create volume

STYLE DETAILS Deep V-neck or sweetheart necklines create volume at the bust line Wrap dresses and peplum dresses help add more curves at the hips Bootcut and wide leg pants, short flared skirts are great for creating balance

NO CURVE

SHOPPING FOR YOUR BODY TYPE

SHOPPING DO’S Any form that will give volume to your arms: batman sleeves, dropped sleeve line, ¾ length, flared, cuffed, etc. Cuts that add volume to your top half: empire line, yoke line, layering, wrap tops, and breast pockets Bottoms that have pocket or pleat details will create curves at the hips

SHOPPING DONT’S Avoid long, straight-fitted lines in dresses, trousers, and sleeves Tops and shift dresses with square necklines add boxy-ness Shapeless jackets - loose or droopy styles that hang from the shoulders

SHOPPING RULES Rule of 3: can you wear it with at least 3 items in your closet? For 3 different kinds of occasions? Try. It. On. Hanger appeal is not a great judge of how it will look on your body. If you’re on the fence, take it to the fitting room!

CLOSET TIPS!

A short list of some of best tips on how to turn your closet into a treasure trove of outfits: Flip all of your hangers to face the same direction. Every time you wear an item, put it back into your closet with the hanger hook facing the other direction so you know you've worn it. In 3 months you'll have a better of idea of what is simply decoration in your closet and in 6 months, you will know with certainty what to donate, consign, or trash. Pair one of your "go-to" piece with something new. You know that dress you're wearing every other / every week? Maybe it's time to give it a rest and your colleagues (or significant others) some excitement. Layer a button down under that dress, or put a cardigan or jacket on top and cinch it with a printed belt. Remember: if you buy a piece you can't wear with at least 3 items in your closet, you're not just paying for that skirt, you're paying for the top, jacket, shoes, and jewelry to go with that dress. Hang your jewelry next to your closet. We often have clients that tell us they need help accessorizing, yet we see jewelry boxes but no jewelry. If you don't see it, you won't wear it. Lastly, write down what your personal goals are. If you want to be "Classic, Sophisticated, and Chic," write that on a post it and put it next to your full length mirror. Does the reflection reflect how you want to be perceived?
