Q & A With Sri Sri Ravi Shankat on Deep Meditation

1. Guruji, in deep meditation can we sleep? Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: Yes it is okay. In deep meditation sometimes tandra comes and you fall asleep, never mind. Wake up and do a little more pranayam. Today, did you feel every cell waking up? (Many answer YES). How many of you felt your body became so light?

2. Gurudev, in deep meditation the breath slows down and even stops sometimes. How does the body function at that time?

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: When the breath slows down, the activities in the body slow down, the entropy is low. Samadhi is almost zero activity. I won't say it is zero activity; almost zero. Still a little bit something will be happening. Little bit of breath will be flowing out at a very slow pace.

3. Guruji, could you please share with us what you experience during deep meditation? Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: Just myself. Like doctors have some ethics, gurus also have some ethics - not to speak of their experience. Otherwise you would sit and close your eyes saying,’ Oh I want that experience, oh Guruji is in Samadhi, I want that Samadhi’. No.
