Unforgettable emotions to savor and share: Carpenè Malvolti sparkling wines, Grappas and brandies come from far away, in the green hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, lands created to produce fine wine. They have the fragrance of love of life and its pleasures, of love of grape growing and wine making. They have the intense color of great ideas and the enthusiasm that keeps searching, discovering and innovating all the time. The have the strong, deep flavor of experience, of quality, of excellence, handed down through four generations. The delight and joy of sunny conviviality, of good living and the all-Italian pleasures, skillfully presented in a glass of “good sparkling wine”. And at the end, a sip of fine grappa or noble brandy.
All this is summed up in Carpenè Malvolti’s Ten Commandments of Quality: 1 The first choice grapes and musts from the finest vineyards on the hills of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene grown by expert, professional grape growers. 2 Manual harvesting that ensures accurate selection of the bunches and use of suitable means to transport the raw material to the cellars. 3 Respect of the values of the Carpenè Malvolti tradition: a culture of research, study of grape growing and wine making, professional skill, ethics. 4 Accurate treatment of highly selected yeasts according to the exclusive Carpenè Malvolti recipe. 5 Maximum attention to the temperatures for correct fermentation. 6 Optimization of the timing of “riddling” to safeguard fragrance and aromas. 7 Use of equipment of the latest generation to ensure high quality standards. 8 Isobaric perfection to safeguard the correct pressure levels. 9 Use of corks in prime quality cork, with guaranteed aging controlled in our plant. 10 Conservation of the finished product in conditioned environments at constant temperature.
PROSECCO
The name “Prosecco” since 2009 does not indicate the grape variety but the territory where the raw material is grown, harvested and processed to create Prosecco wine. The grape variety is now called with its original name: “Glera”. Carpenè Malvolti Prosecco comes from vineyards of 100 % glera, strong, healthy plants characterized by nut brown vines and rather large elongated bunches, the clusters uncrowded and winged, with a delightful golden color. During the harvest, the bunches are hand picked to ensure accurate selection, and immediately taken to the winery by suitable means. Here they are cleaned and lightly pressed to extract only the flower of the must, the qualitatively finest part from the heart of the grape. The must is left to stand at low temperature (5 -10°C) in steel tanks (for decanting) and after 10-12 hours the clear portion of the must is separated from the sediment and sent for alcoholic fermentation at a temperature that never exceeds 20° C. The base spumante obtained in this way is then made to ferment again slowly with sugar and highly selected yeasts in stainless steel autoclaves at controlled temperature (Conegliano Valdobbiadene method). The product is then centrifuged and filtered before it is bottled. The entire process takes place in an inert atmosphere.
Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Controlled and Guaranteed Denomination of Origin The word “Prosecco” has been identified since 2009 with the territory located between the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia Regions, and the historical zone of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene has become DOCG (Controlled and Guaranteed Denomination of Origin), the highest qualification of quality wines. It pertains exclusively to the heart of the Veneto Region, among the Conegliano and Valdobbiadene hills of the province of Treviso. It is a rocky land, often difficult to farm, but unique for its mild climate and uncontaminated air, a perfect environment between the Dolomite Mountains and the Adriatic Sea.

INNOVATION
“L’Arte Spumantistica”: It involves important research and development activities carried out by the house council of enologists, under the careful expert guidance of Etile Carpenè Jr. This is a unique ten-year project, set up with the aim of seeking excellent new wines suitable for processing by the most advanced sparkling wine processing methods. “L’Arte Spumantistica” is the realization of a wish to interpret and satisfy the taste and style of every “lover of good wine”, creating a product that represents individual preferences and produces a wine that can become a favorite sparkling wine. Every year Carpenè Malvolti challenges tradition and custom by placing on the market a product of superior quality never before processed as a sparkling wine, made exclusive and rare by the valuable raw materials used, and rich in unusual flavors and aromas. It is a valuable, exciting and curious discovery, greatly appreciated also by new generations throughout the world.
PETIT MANSENG
CSERSZEGI
The Petit Manseng grape is a variation in white of the Manseng grape. Its name derives from its small but very dense grapes. The zones where, historically, it grows best are the Languedoc, Jurançon and Pacherenc du Vic-Bil areas. Recently it has stirred up considerable interest among the experts internationally, and is also grown in California and Australia. Carpenè Malvolti has processed it as a sparkling wine with the Charmat Method for the first time.
Cersegi is a hybrid between Irsai Oliver and Traminer Rosso. It was created by the famous Hungarian enologist Karoly Bakonyj. In 1949 he started implanting clones of Italian grape varieties, such as Riesling, in Hungary to obtain climate resistant grape varieties that could ripen early, had a good saccharine content and were rich in primary varietal aromas. Carpenè Malvolti has submitted it to the sparkling process purely using the Charmat Method for the first time.

VIOGNIER
KERNER
Historians tell that the Viognier grapes were taken to the Côte du Rhône from Dalmatia by the Roman emperor Probus in 218 AD. Here the vines thrived, originating two little appellations such as Condrieu and Château-Grillet. Carpenè Malvolti has submitted it to the sparkling process for the first time.
Kerner is a grape variety with a recent history. It results from a hybrid between Rhenish Riesling and Schiava, and was created by A. Herold in the experimental station of Weinsberg / Württemberg in Germany in 1929. It has been grown in Northern Italy only recently, finding ideal soil in the Dolomite region. Carpenè Malvolti has processed it as a sparkling wine for the first time.

SPECIALITIES
The founder of the company, Antonio Carpenè, dreamed of producing an excellent “Italian sparkling wine” that could compare with the French sparkling wine called Champagne. And so he began to produce Carpenè sparkling wine with refermentation in the bottle, using the finest raw materials from the Trentino/Alto Adige districts. After more than 140 years the basic recipe is still the original one that has been enriched over the years by the winery’s own panel of enologists. Technological innovation combined with the enological mastery of Carpenè Malvolti has also led to some “variations” in the method and choice of the grapes, with a number of special, inimitable cuvées.

DISTILLATES
One of the first producers of Grappa and Brandy, since the late 19th century, Carpenè Malvolti is synonymous with high quality distillers, exclusively Italian. From the pressing of the finest grapes, the house enologists select the fresh pomace to be sent to the distillery for the production of grappa and wine alcohol for brandy, continuously controlling the fermentation to ensure that it does not undergo any alteration from independent refermentation. Grappa is produced in steam stills made of copper, through a process of elimination of the light and heavy parts (head and tail) to use nothing but the heart of the distillate, obtaining the maximum purity and quality. For brandy, the wines are first distilled then aged in small casks of Slavonian and Limousine oak, according to an exclusive method of the Carpenè family, for minimum periods of 7,15 or 21 years.
