Transhouse
Rabia Yıldırım’s architectural design studio project is located in MAnhattan Upper East Side. Considering the potentials and also the level of income in this are a new kind of transportation is suggested for this area.Main idea of this new version of transportation is that it starts as a public transportation via accumulation of every unit, but ends up with the deaccumulation of units leading the user of unit exactly the place where its user wants to go. This intersituation of transportation can be summe rized as public at the begining, but private at the end. This idea was also carried to the building's own circulation system, which constitutes the private circulation in this project. Since these units have the opportunity to lead the user to bring the exact space where user supposed to go, in this project these units leads the dwellers of condo exactly-directly to their own houses. The spatial reflection of this situation has its own characteristics, like reaching a building from different levels instead of ground floor, while the user/dweller has the opportunity to observe city during his/her transportation-circulation. Conventionally circulation of skyscrapers is generally desingned in the core/middle of the building, where users of the building are disconnected with city, but this project protest this situation of circulation, since actually circulation in a building is an extension of urban transportation. In order to emphasize this situation, circulation is delocated from the core of the building to the exterior and interior facades of the building. Rabia Yıldırım’ın mimari stüdyo projesi Manhattan, Upper East Side’ da bulunmaktadır. Alanın potansiyelleri ve alanda yaşayanların üst düzey gelirleri ön planda tutulduğunda alana ve arsaya yeni bir ulaşım tipi önerilmiş ve bu öngörülen ulaşım tipi konut olarak tasarlanmış olan binaya kent ve konut birimi ölçeğinde entegre edilmiştir. Projenin gelecek vizyonu kapsamında öngördüğü ulaşım tipi özel ulaşım ile kamusal ulaşım arasında bir arayüz oluşturmaktadır, bu bağlamda da projede şehir içi sirkülas yon ile bina ölçeğindeki sirkülasyon biribirinden ayrılmamış aksine projede şehir sirkülasyonu tasarlanmış yapıya bir alt kotlarda bir istasyon, üst kotlarda ise konut birimlerine direkt olarak entegre edilmiştir. Bu noktada konut planları yeni önerilen ulaşım tipine göre çözülmüş ve çekirdekler konvensiyonel sistemin aksine cephelerde koridorsuz olarak çözülmüş ve her bir konut birimine konutta yaşayan(lar) tarafından şehiriçi kullanılan yeni araç birimleri ile bağlantı sağlanmıştır. Bununla beraber alışılagelmiş kullanıcıyı şehirden koparan yapının en kör noktasında konumlana gökedelen çekirdek çözümlerinin aksine cephedeki çekirdekler sayesinde binanın kamusal veya özel kullanıcılarına sirkulasyonları sırasında şehri seyretme imkanı sunmaktadı
