First Rockaway Male and Female Finishers This year, proceeds from the Rockaway Rotary 5K Run/Walk will be distributed to two organizations to help fight hunger in our local communities: the Rockaway Food Closet and the Morris County Interfaith Food Pantry. The Rockaway Food Closet provides food to residents of Rockaway Borough and Rockaway Township who cannot feed their families. The Closet also distributes additional baskets at Thanksgiving and during the December holiday season. The Morris County Interfaith Pantry serves more than 300 families each week, most of whom are senior citizens and low-income working families. More than 20 tons of food are distributed out of cramped quarters each month. A new building, located on donated land, will provide significantly more storage space, allowing the Pantry to receive and process more corporate donations and more truckloads of food. This will allow the Pantry to serve more families and local food pantries in Morris County.
