Dear BGCM Friends,

We are thrilled to have you as our guests this evening. For over 48 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Memphis have supported the kids in our community with a safe place to go after school, with excellent staff members and programs developed and supported by our national organization. The Club environment enables our kids to reach their full potential. Not only do the kids benefit, but so do their families and our collective communities. Though our national organization provides excellent support, we are responsible for raising the funding needed to serve our kids locally.

Therefore, work that BGCM does for our kids and communities is only possible with financial supportfromourlocalcommunityandindividualslikeyou.Weareveryproudoftheimpactour Clubshavebutweknowwecoulddosomuchmorewithadditionalfunding. Ourreachisonlylimitedbythefundingavailable. Furthermore, studies have shown that every dollar invested in our Clubs has a return of $14 to the community.

Tonight, you will be meeting some of the over 4,500 club members. Please spend some time getting to know these kids and their stories. We hope you enjoy being a part of this event. The staff, volunteers, board members and I could not be more appreciativeforthedifferenceyouaremakinginthelivesofourkids. Andwehopeyouwillcontinuetosupportusaswemove forward, focused on serving as many deserving kids as possible.

It’s hard to believe that for over 48 years Steak n’ Burger has brought together our Club kids, community members and supporters to not only share a meal together, but also empower one another to better our communities. We are thrilled to have you as our guest this evening and encourage you all to get to know our kids by listening to the inspiring stories they each have to share.

Those members sitting at your table are excelling in school, leading healthy lifestyles that are drug free, experiencing Memphis through field trips and Club outings, and are the future of our city.

IknowthatyouandIwillthoroughlyenjoyhearingfromBarretttonight,andthewonderfulstorieshe hasalreadyexperiencedinhislifetime.Mostimportantly,IhopeyoucansomeinsightintowhatourClubmembersexperience daily at their Club and how your support tonight is making a difference in each of their lives.
