Nen Sokar-Festival of Sokar The Festival of Sokar, Neter of the Memphite necropolis and a form of Asar in hibernation, is an expression of the hope for returning light in the darkest period of winter. It is also an acknowledgment of the powers that the season brings-in­ ertia, decay, consolidation, and confinement-the realm of Set.
