The Team weR2 produces functional objects inspired by and made with contemporary artists. weR2 (we are two) is a collaborative venture for housewares and accessories launched by architect and interior designer Suchi Reddy and former gallerist Sara Meltzer. Born of a shared passion for art, design and finely crafted objects, weR2 launched in 2013 with products by Nathan Chrislip, Moyna Flannigan, Jason Middlebrook and Kate Shepherd, and since, has produced a new series of products by Eric Brown, Francesca Gabbiani, Kelly Lamb and George Venson. . Suchi Reddy and Sara Meltzer met in June of 2010 and have been friends and collaborators ever since. They hit the ground running with enthusiasm to see, do and create interesting ways of working together, and have shared travel adventures around the globe to broaden their views and inspire their work together. Reddy has created numerous spectacular New York residences and has partnered with Meltzer to select artwork to compliment the design and client’s sensibilities.
The Dream Inspired by Richard Hamilton’s iconic 1956 photo-collage Just what is it that makes today’s home so different, so appealing?, the Dream Machine is the most elaborate weR2 collaboration to date. Part-exhibition space and part-travel trailer, everything from the exterior surface and interior design to the products within have been created or curated by weR2. Internationally recognized artist Jason Middlebrook has been commissioned to create his signature biomorphic striations on the aluminum exterior of the bulletshaped vehicle. The spectacular interior living space, designed by architect and interior designer Suchi Reddy of Reddymade Design, has been appointed with artist-designed functional objects selected by project producer and former gallerist Sara Meltzer.
