Aetna Community Garden
project team
The Aetna Community Gardens will stand as a beacon of sustainable practices and community gathering space for the Parson’s community. The site will authentically demonstrate sustainable elements including rain barrels as a storm water management element, raised planters which serve as a place for community members and restaurants to grow food, natural plantings including wildflowers and grasses as a source of food for animals and much more. Signs and graphics throughout the site provide basic educational information about various site elements. Other areas of interest include a dog park, lunch pavilion, and community gathering space. This multifunctional and multifaceted space located in the heart of downtown promises to harvest awareness of sustainable practices, harvest friendships and relationships between community members and harvest hope as neighbors, families, and friends plant, nurture, and grow fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers.

A walk in the park, a jog on the greenway, a splash in the fountains, a dinner at the plaza. We build, we design, we create, and we preserve so people can relax, enjoy, and immerse themselves in the landscape.
