"Do or Die" on the Streets of Bed-Stuy was inspired by a series of interviews and photographs by Kevin Vast, whose scenes of Bedford-Stuyvesant, a notoriously crime-ridden neighbourhood covering a large swath of Brooklyn, are woven into narrative vignettes featuring members of the community. Animal, Bee, Rey, Ryan, and Rock testify to the enduring, hard-biting spirit of the hood.
