AEDs – A Matter of Life
Leslie Spiers
Steve Luck
A new offering for the autumn; preview the modules from our new ‘Director 100’ programme, designed to offer senior level business leaders practical business solutions in sharply focused 100 minute sessions, a perfect fit for busy schedules. These innovative sessions are tailored to fit with the busy working day and will be a ‘100 minutes of pure gold’ to revitalise thinking and to support leaders in driving their business forward to greater success.
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are becoming more common in workplaces and public spaces. Often defibrillation is the only way to restore the heart’s normal rhythm after cardiac arrest – every minute without defibrillation or cardio-pulmonary resuscitation reduces someone’s chances of survival by 10%. Are you prepared to take that risk? This session considers why AEDs should form part of your emergency response strategy in business.
Customer Service – The Human Touch
SharePoint – An Introduction
Debbie Stanford
Jane Hawkins
Customer service with the ‘wow’ factor, that’s what we aspire to; to deliver exceptional and extraordinary customer service to differentiate ourselves from our competitors. But there is one huge fly in the ointment… the digital age. Have we lost the ability for that ‘human touch’, that all important interaction that compels customers to come back to us time and time again? Join us on a short, witty journey into the final frontier of customer service with the human touch.
Imagine one central IT information point where multiple users, including those working remotely, could have access to contributing and sharing information such as notes, documents and spreadsheets? This session offers an basic introduction to SharePoint - a smart and collaborative way to work that is being integrated into many businesses to simplify and streamline information sharing and collaborative team working.
Zero Hours Contracts
Presentations – A State of Mind
Stephanie Barnett
Peter Taylor
Zero hours contracts can benefit your business and your employees as they offer the potential of flexibility, yet there are risks associated with zero hours contracts, both legal and ethical. Join this session led by our HR specialist, Stephanie Barnett as she dispels the myths and provides you with the facts around this highly topical and sometimes controversial subject.
Fact – we are not all natural presenters! However, there is a skill we can tap into to deliver successful presentations. Humans are wired to listen to stories and as a presenter; you are conveying a business story. It’s the ‘how’ you deliver your story that creates impact; planning your goals, mapping the journey, owning it and checking the audience is engaged. This is outcome thinking. So join our 60 minute journey for great perspectives in creating presentations that are wired for impact.
Looking in the Management Mirror Alison Rushworth Managers; empowered or suffocated? A good look in the mirror can be highly revealing. Vision, direction, trust, delegation, feedback, problem solving are all elements of creating empowered managers who have the skills, knowledge and expertise to manage and lead people. This session offers a taster of concepts to empower managers to feel motivated, driven and passionate about your business.

Your management systems, whether they are informal or formally certified to ISO 9001, 14001 or OHSAS 18001, should operate seamlessly across your organisation to create a cohesive link between your policies, documents, procedures and practice. An integrated systems approach will give you a slicker, more manageable process, and support the development of a quality, safety and environmental management culture in your business. This session will show you how, by integrating your management systems, you can give your business the competitive advantage.

Laughter… It’s Good for Business! Delivered by Lisa Sturge Our final session of the day brings a unique and alternative perspective to nurturing the conditions to create successful working environments. When you are topped up with multiple priorities and there is no extra room at the top to park new demands arriving daily at your desk, it’s no wonder our facial expressions and body language adopts a serious, immersed and often stressed appearance. The impact of our mood then ripples through the office and others become tense, uncertain and perhaps a little afraid to speak.
So here is a brave thought (that great business leaders are embracing). Laughter in the office is a good thing! It’s true. Laughter engenders trust, confidence and productivity; it boosts creativity and the sharing of great ideas. It becomes the glue that helps a team to bond and share common goals. It breaks down barriers and helps people to connect. Too bold a claim? Join our final session of the day for 30 minutes of truly thought provoking and energising insights in to how laughter at work can be a good thing, how it can help people perform better, reduce stress and tensions and free people so ideas flow.
