Hunger But are you really hungry? Often times we mistake our emotional desire to eat with a physical need for food. You may experience slight hunger during your cleanse and as you do, try and decipher if you are actually physically hungry or if you’d just like a bite of something.

Headaches Mild headaches are a normal sensation during a juice cleanse as your body withdrawals from caffeine and sugar.
Exercise Light exercise during your cleanse is encouraged to increase your circulation and move out the toxins. “Lift Weights to Lose Weight.� Building muscle will allow your body to target fat cells over lean muscle allowing you to get rid of the extra pounds.
Calorie Intake Each Raleigh Raw juice has about 5 pounds of produce and contains 90-120 Calories.

Cheat Sheet Drink your juices 2-3 hours apart to sustain a proper balance of nutrients all day long. Drink lots of water, particularly warm water with lemon to speed up your metabolism. Buddy up. Cleansing with a friend is great, however if this is not an option ask them for their support. Lift light weights, enjoy the sauna, go to a yoga class, get a massage. Any and all of these things will benefit you during your cleanse. Love yourself. Remember how awesome you are and acknowledge your achievements often.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully completed your Cleanse. Before you raise a glass, this doesn’t mean you can finally get back to shots of Jameson and Cliff Huxtable sized Hoagies... It is important that you safely shift your body and digestive system back to consuming solids by transitioning out of your cleanse the way you came into it. Small portions, mostly raw, natural and unprocessed foods. What’s the Difference Between Juicing and Blending? Juicing is a process which extracts water and nutrients from produce and discards the indigestible fiber. • Without all the fiber, your digestive system doesn’t have to work to break down the food and absorb the nutrients. • Juicing makes the nutrients more readily available to the body in much larger quantities than if you were to eat the fruits and vegetables whole or from a blender in smoothie form. • The fiber in produce helps slow down the digestive process and provides a steady release of nutrients into the blood stream. Why Raw Juice Beats Store Bought Juice The juice you find at the store is not juice! Enzymes Metabolic enzymes catalyze and regulate every biochemical reaction that occurs within the human body, making them essential for cellular function and overall health. Digestive enzymes turn the
food we eat into energy which may be utilized by the body for various biological processes. Our bodies naturally produce both digestive and metabolic enzymes, as they are needed. Enzymes are protein chemicals, which carry a vital energy factor needed for every chemical action, and reaction that occurs in our body. There are approximately 1300 different enzymes found in the human cell. Cold Press versus Centrifugal Juicing methods Most of the popular juicers you see are centrifugal juicers. You know, the ones with the long shoot for stuffing the produce down into a spinning blade. Although these juicers are much more affordable, these juicing methods have motors that cause high amounts of heat and air exposure. These juicers are great for juicing at home for immediate consumption but will not work for commercial bottling. The added heat and oxygen destroys the natural essential enzymes present in the fresh fruits and vegetables – leaving the juice deficient of its original nutrient value and killing the shelf life. We find it necessary to use a 100% cold-pressed method in order to preserve all of the essential nutrients and live enzymes. Our produce undergoes a slow-grind, and is then pressed by 2 tons of slow moving hydraulic pressure.

Alkaline foods are foods that raise the amount of oxygen that your blood takes in. The most alkalizing foods are RAW green leafy vegetables, non-sweet fruits and (wheat) grasses. The opposite of alkaline foods are acid foods. Acidic foods are the source of discomfort, disease, and low energy. In the beginning of the 20th century it was discovered that if our blood cannot absorb enough oxygen we get sick: cancer, arthritis, candida infections, heart issues and diabetes are the result. Disease can not live in an alkaline body/environment. Today we attempt to cure cancer with chemo and radiation. That is like killing a fly on the wall using a bazooka. Furthermore you are treating symptoms not the cause. The correct course of action is to consume a diet that would make your body slightly more rich in alkaline thereby making it impossible for disease to form or thrive. The amount of oxygen your blood can absorb is measured on a pH scale that ranges from 0 to 14. A pH of 0 is most acidic while a pH of 14 is most alkaline.
