HOUSE ON PINE

CONTEXT

The House on Pine is a home to a family of 5. Garret and Claire are the two homeowners with two kids under the age of 10 and Claire’s mother living with them in a unit on the lower level.

Renderings

The Jenkins Family enjoy reading, watching TV, and cooking together. Therefore, the spaces are designed with many reading areas. The kitchen is a spacious main attraction because of their love of cooking and entertaining. Lastly there is a living room in the back for the family to com together and watch TV in a more private area.

The entrance of the home has exposed exterior brick, a newer fireplace, and a reading nook for people to utilize. This space is also used a lot for big family dinners.

Through this design, the Jenkins family is able to live functionally and create their ideal lifestyle.

Addition Unit

The Jenkins family decided to add an additional unit for their grandmother to live in. The additional unit includes a kitchenette, bedroom, ADA bathroom, and a desk. There is also a side yard for the grandmother to have her own personal outdoor space and area to read.
