ACT Releases SFI-Approved Pressure Plate for 06-15 Mazda MX-5 Miata Applications

Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT) has released the new MZ032 Pressure Plate. The MZ032 features a more efficient cover design, resulting in better release and pedal feel. This Pressure Plate replaces the MZ018 in the ZM4 and ZM5 Series Kits. All other Kit Components remain the same (see spec sheet for detailed application listings).

ACT’s ZM4 and ZM5 Clutch Kits for the Mazda MX-5 Miata NC Cars include a Heavy Duty Pressure Plate, a choice of Disc, Release and Pilot Bearing and an Alignment Tool. The Heavy Duty Pressure Plate incorporates hardened diaphragm fingers for decreased wear and provides a 34% increase in clamp force over the stock unit.

The ACT Street Clutch Kits combine the Heavy Duty Pressure Plate with a Performance Organic Street Disc. The disc features premium organic friction materials able to withstand increased heat and abuse, steel-backed linings for high-burst strength and modifications engineered for quicker shifting.

The kit provides a moderate and consistent pedal feel, smooth engagement, and significantly improved durability. These kits meet SFI Spec 1.1 and have increased torque capacity up to 281 FT-LB.

The ACT Race Clutch Kits combine the Heavy Duty Pressure Plate with a Cerametallic Xtreme Race Disc, which is available in 6-Pad Spring-Centered and Rigid Hub Designs. These discs are highly durable while allowing for

CLUTCH | FLYWHEELS | TRACK | STREET quick shifting. The Xtreme Race Discs are for high-powered engines and recommended for track use only. The ACT Race Clutch Kits meet SFI Spec 1.1 and are rated to hold up to 359 FT-LB of torque at the crank.

The SFI-Approved Streetlite Flywheel is designed for performance and affordability without compromising a smooth idle. This one-piece, forged Chromoly Steel Flywheel is CNC machined and features inductionhardened, integral ring gear for increased durability. ACT Flywheels are engineered for strength and allow cost-effective resurfacing.

Driver and spectator safety are a top priority at ACT. Each ACT Flywheel is certified to meet SFI Specification 1.1 standards, making them legal for competition where SFI 1.1 certification is required or recommended. XACT flywheels come complete with an official SFI sticker and serial number, as required for certification.

The 601140 XACT Streetlite Flywheel weighs 10.4 pounds, which is 35% lighter than the Stock Flywheel. This Flywheel provides quicker engine response and acceleration, while being significantly lighter than Stock. SFI-Approved Mod-Twin 225 for Subaru WRX STi

SFI-Approved Performance Clutch Kits for the 2012-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK

ACT’s new Clutch Kits for the Jeep Wrangler include a Heavy Duty Pressure Plate, a choice of Disc, Release Bearing, Pilot Bearing, and Alignment Tool. ACT’s Heavy Duty Pressure Plate will increase torque capacity, durability, and clutch life by providing 21% more clamping force, increased surface area, exclusive ductile iron casting, and hardened diaphragm fingers for decreased wear.

The ACT Performance Street Clutch Kit combines the Heavy Duty Pressure Plate with a Performance Organic Street Disc for smooth engagement and predictable performance even in the harshest environments. The ACT Street Disc features premium steel-backed organic friction materials and 8% additional surface area using the stock flywheel or 16% more with the ACT Flywheel. Added surface area means added clutch life and heat capacity.

The Street Clutch Kit provides a moderate and consistent pedal feel, smooth engagement, high burst strength and significantly improved durability. This kit will hold 479 FT-LB of torque at the flywheel.

The ACT Race Clutch Kit combines the Heavy Duty Pressure Plate with a cerametallic 6 pad spring-centered Xtreme Race Disc. This disc is highly durable while allowing for quick shifting but engages aggressively. The Xtreme 6 Pad Disc is for high-powered engines and recommended for track use only. The ACT Race Clutch will hold 613 FT-LB of torque at the flywheel.

Twin-Disc Clutch Kits for the 2007-2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

ACT twin-disc clutch kits offer a wide range of street-friendly to race-ready options with torque capacities ranging from 890-1495 ft.-lbs. These kits offer two discs, which results in nearly twice the disc surface area compared to a conventional clutch design, and that means better wear characteristics, a higher heat capacity and longer life. The twin-disc kits include ACT’s proprietary Positive Lift Floater system, which automatically compensates for disc wear.

Each kit offers a choice of three different clamp load designs to give unparalleled performance and moderate pedal effort. Users also have the option of choosing disc combinations that feature high torque capacities along with smooth consistent engagement. In addition to the variety of options for these kits, they are completely serviceable. All twindisc kits can be sent back to ACT’s manufacturing facility for resurfacing, component replacement and rebalancing, which is performed at a fraction of the cost.
