NEW VENUE: Case Study, Kuala Lumpur
Advertisement
Case Study, the latest venue helmed by bartender Alvin AuYong has arrived in Kuala Lumpur. The venue is located in an old family owned printing factory that was established in the 1950s. The space has been transformed to include in-house professional services, co-working spaces, green pocket parks, community events and of course food and beverage venues including Case Study while keeping the factory in operation.
Creating the venue from scratch, Case Study seeks to push the boundaries in terms of flavours, hospitality, experience and essentially every aspect related to a bar. Albeit, in a more casual, fun and interactive manner.
Case Study blends local and foreign ingredients into each cocktail. The beverage program here takes an eco friendly and sustainable approach, reusing and maximising the usage of all ingredients to contribute an extra dimension to the whole experience. For instance, raw materials used for infusions or syrups will be converted into jams, pickles, dusts, and dehydrated garnishes to contribute more to the cocktails.

INNOVATION: ZUMA ZACAPA LIVE SOLERA SYSTEM
Japanese restaurant Zuma has partnered with Ron Zacapa Rum to create the Zuma Zacapa Live Solera System – The world’s first evolving cocktail system. Zuma Hong Kong launched its Zuma Zacapa Live Solera system in October, coinciding with launch parties held in London, Dubai and New York. The system will be in Zuma Hong Kong and eight other Zuma restaurants around the world, delivering an original cocktail in each restaurant specifically designed to appeal local flavoured and palates. For example, the ageing casks for Zuma in Hong Kong are infused with Szechuan, pink peppercorns, fennel seeds and duck fat, mixing perfectly with the Zacapa premium rum. Once the rum has travelled through the system into the final barrel, it is poured and served with a hand-cut and engraved bespoke piece of ice.
