Raising the bar: Building on Success
Welcome to the second MMC Ireland National Conference!
Following the success of the inaugural MMC Ireland National Conference last year, the event returns for more discussion on the advances and industry barriers affecting the uptake and deployment of modern methods of construction.
We have two full days featuring a high-profile speaker programme showcasing the best in offsite construction with presentations and case studies alongside a pop-up exhibition of offsite specialists. The largest gathering ever seen in Ireland.
During both the morning and afternoon sessions, panel discussions will offer further insight into and debate around some of the key event themes and topics. Day One will culminate in a drinks reception where delegates can network with leading industry players from across Ireland and beyond. Day Two will continue the discussions supporting the development of new skills and specialisms throughout the day.
We hope you find the conference both inciteful and enjoyable!

WHY NOT ENTER ‘INTERNATIONAL PROJECT OF THE YEAR?’
This category will celebrate projects from around the world that have used offsite technology as a central construction method and used precision factory-controlled systems. This can apply to any sector or building type regardless of scale. With collaborative working and tight building timescales of huge importance to most project teams, the entrant must prove that it has met client/project expectations in providing a sustainable, energy efficient and cost-effective contemporary building, whilst demonstrating how cost-predictability, economy, accuracy, transportability, speed of installation and principles of design for manufacture have been achieved. On an International level – the applicant should convey how the project or system has genuinely pushed the boundaries of offsite construction technology application and been successful in a country-specific context.

THANK YOU FROM MMC IRELAND
Thank you for coming to Kilkenny...
I am delighted that you could attend the MMC Ireland National Conference 2024, our second annual conference. Whether you are a member of MMC Ireland or joining us as a non-member, your presence and contribution at this conference will add to the MMC conversation and help us, as an organisation, to continue driving positive change across the construction industry.
While the 12 months have flown by, they have not been without their challenges for our members and for the wider economy. Since our last conference, the MMC sector in Ireland has made significant strides in advancing offsite and other modern methods of construction, both in policy and in practice. The ongoing work being done to drive changes across procurement and policy is shaping the future of construction delivery in a positive way. Together, we have seen remarkable progress in improving the delivery of homes, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and other projects that are critical to Ireland’s development. But this progress has not been enough. System delays, including planning and supporting infrastructure, remain.
The collaborative efforts of our members and industry stakeholders have been instrumental in driving the sector forward. Through our working groups and government advisory groups, MMC Ireland has been actively involved in shaping policies around MMC initiatives. The deep expertise of our members has played a huge role in influencing the future direction of MMC and construction in Ireland and for that we are grateful. We recognise and appreciate the time and personal efforts that our members have so generously shared and we are confident the benefit of these contributions will become evident for all.
As we gather at this conference, it is essential to acknowledge the challenges that lie ahead. Pipeline development, procurement, planning approvals, and skills gaps are among the hurdles that require our collective attention. However, it is through these challenges that opportunities for growth and innovation emerge. The commitment of MMC Ireland to help to address these challenges in order to create a sustainable, buildable pipeline for our members is unwavering.
The offsite sector in Ireland is primed for further development over the next 18 months; our collaborative initiatives and engagement with the government will continue to help to shape policies and drive positive changes. From a MMC Ireland perspective, we aim to see continued progress in informing the future of MMC and construction in Ireland, ensuring that the efforts of you, our members, contribute to sustainable, efficient, and innovative construction practices.
Finally, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all attendees here this week for your willingness to advance the MMC sector in Ireland. The discussions, insights, and collaborations that will take place at this conference will be invaluable. Together, we are shaping the future of construction in Ireland, and I am confident that the progress we have made in such a short timeframe and the ongoing work being done will pave the way for an efficient, sustainable construction industry.
Thank you for being part of the MMC Ireland National Conference 2024.
