IMC Club Press Package Imclubs.org press releases
Who We Are Too often pilots finish their training and then become distracted and disengaged from the flying community. The result is a dangerous lack of proficiency and or the loss of support to the flying community as a whole. IMC Club is mitigating this issue by providing a means to reengage pilots with other pilots and instructors. IMC club is coaching, training, mentoring and helping pilots to fly in actual instrument meteorological conditions. Regular bi-weekly meetings where pilots and instructors have the opportunity to engage and discuss topics related to instrument flying are combined with actual mission flights where members fly missions designed on a graduated scale of complexity. For instance, initial missions include real world flying scenarios with relatively simple parameters. More complex missions would include scenarios with multiple re-routings from ATC and more complex weather decisions. Post Mission briefings are prepared by participating pilots and presented at the by-weekly meetings. This provides the pilots of those missions and members of the IMC Club to learn from each other’s experience. Completion of these missions would determine member’s rank in the club
Club rank based on missions flown: Club Standard – 5 Missions completed Club Silver – 10 Missions completed, Club Gold – 15 Missions completed, Club Diamond – 20 Missions, Club Platinum – 25 Missions

Too often pilots complete their training and then become distracted and disengaged from the flying community. The result is a dangerous lack of proficiency and/or the loss of support from the flying community as a whole. IMC Club is mitigating this issue by providing a means of reconnecting pilots with other pilots and instructors. IMC Club is committed to coaching, training, mentoring and helping pilots skillfully and safely fly in actual instrument meteorological conditions.
Bi-weekly meetings provide a forum for pilots and instructors to discuss topics related to instrument flying. Post Mission briefings are also presented by participating pilots and are analyzed so all members can learn from the experience. Club Missions are divided into four levels, each level being more complex than the previous level. For example, initial missions include real world flying scenarios with relatively simple parameters. More complex missions include scenarios with multiple re-routings from ATC and more complex weather decisions. Completion of these missions determines your “rank” and proficiency level in the club.
Pilots and instructors can participate in the IMC Club movement by opening their own IMC Club Chapters and enjoying the benefits and full support of the IMC Club website. No fee is charged for club membership. IMC Clubs mission is to promote pilot safety!
