Illumination Solution for Rural Kids

Jugnoo is a ‘do-it-yourself’ (DIY) kit that helps children make their own solar study lights, where electricity is scarce, providing them with a personalised lighting solution. The component of the kit, including the packaging enable putting this lamp together. With no wiring exposed it is completely robust and safe. The design also encourages tinkering and instilling confidence in making things by themselves.

Studying Environment Identifying different study postures Children adopt multiple posture while studying both at home and at school. Some students are comfortable with book over their lap and some lie down and read. Many keep changing their posture after a while.

Few families own solar LED lamp which is meant for the common use of the entire family, a child’s education is never a priority in the list of using light.

Vision A future were,

reduces to 8.12 crore students without access to clean, affordable, sustainable energy

zero student without access to clean, affordable, sustainable energy.

₹ Sustainability Radically reducing CO2 emissions

Health Clean alternative to the hazardous kerosene lamp

Education Giving a brighter future to kids offgrid

Employment Through assembly and distribution of solar study lamps

Charging

18

1. Solar Power

2. Self charging

The solar module is designed to encourage the child to carry it to school, charging it in the process.

The solar panel on the base unit is placed at such angle that the solar panel charges the battery by the light emitted by Light Bar. This improves the absorption of solar energy and conversion rates.
